If anyone can recommend me any good PSLE intensive holiday program for English (especially Compre/Cloze/Vocab) which your relatives or friends have experienced, do let me know. Can pm me. There's many in the market but not sure how effective they are. My dd is weak in English and I thought of using the coming hols to boost her up.

The oral exam is round the corner; some students feel inadequate in sharing their thoughts, or expressing themselves proficiently. Thus, they do not excel in spoken interaction.

Parents can assist their kids by asking them some fascinating topics during dinnertime every day or on weekends. Examples:

1) Do you enjoy visiting the library? What are the differences between e-books and printed books? What is your preference and why?

2) Do you like spending time at the playground (when you were a young child)? Why and why not? In what ways can parents provide recreation for the children? Do you agree that children today have too much work to do to have time for recreation? Do you think children are leading a stressful life today?

3) How often do you use the Internet? What do you do online? How do you strike a balance between playing on the computer and doing your schoolwork? What are the differences between pen-and-paper learning and computer-based learning? Which method do you prefer and why?

4) How often do you and your family travel overseas? Do you think there are more and more families going on holidays? What is an ideal vacation to you? How do you feel when the holiday come to end?

5) What do you think of bullies? Why do bullying occurs in schools? Who are the likely victims? If you witness a bully intimidating or beating up a schoolmate, what would you do? Do you think bullying also takes place outside schools (or even at the workplace)?

Despair now.. After putting my twins in this lousy n irresponsible tuition centre for 6 months, I am giving up..How can a centre keep teaching n 6 in a class constanly failing for all tests? This is ridiculous though they said Test papers r too tough.. Well, tks to them n my twins fared also 1st time so badly in school...


Anymore recommendation for Maths n science preparation classes? Is it too late? Sigh.. I did help them but Maths n science nt my forte.. Luckily their eng n MT r scoring A without tuition!!!!

My boy is in Primary 1 and he's currently in BrightMinds learning centre at AMK. So far, so good! The tutor is patient and my boy says he enjoys the lessons. The worksheets are slightly above average too, which is good for him. I think there's also 2 BrightMinds centres at Woodlands.


Anyway heard from the tutor that they conduct PSLE Intensive Revision Course (Eng, Math, Sci) during the June Holidays and it has been conducted for 8 years already! Just sharing this in case any parents is looking for PSLE revision during this June holiday. 🙂 Seems like the seats are filling up fast though as the tutor told me they only accept 8-10 students per intake every year.

Good luck, mummies and daddies! The PSLE will be in the next 5 years for my boy, so scary 😮

My DD1 attended their PSLE camp previously. It provided good revision on all the topics from P3 -P6 with some out of box experiments. They went through important concepts (cross themes or something like that) and keywords to answer questions fully. Lots of notes highlighting concepts they must know, etc.
My DD2 is joining this year too. Hope she can get A* like her sister.

Hi,
has any parent had their child attended the one-day \"Power-Up\" workshops for PSLE students run by Mindstretcher?

The workshop is a one-day event held at the MS Seminar Room. I believe the teaching is a mass approach with no individual attention, and I would like to know if this is effective.

Grateful for some feedback from those who have attended one of such workshops.

am a newbie here... my dd also taking PSLE this year and she's feeling the stress now, esp from her teachers! I really pity her when she has so many homework to do. 😞 everybody seems to be going for PSLE camp but me still have no clue which is better:
1) my nieces went for those motivational camp by adam khoo and mindchamp last year but their enthusiasm to study last only a week after the camp, and it's so expensive! (dun know if such camp will help my dd to study better)
2) my nephew go for regular mind stretcher tuition but dun like the idea of my dd doing worksheets after worksheets again. enough from her school!
3) my friends sign their kids for this intensive PSLE workshops at Ace Academy cos their ds and dd results improved after only 3 mths in the tuition! question is, this centre is new, never heard before so dun know if my dd will benefit from their program! :gloomy:
any experience KSP can offer good advice? :thankyou:

As my DD did not have Maths tuition, I wanted her to learn other methods (besides those taught in school) to solve the problem. They gave quite a lot of notes which the kids can learn and do after the camp.

They also attended a Science Intensive camp taught by a full time tutor to revise and reinforce their concepts. To make the lesson enjoyable for the kids (since it was June holiday), they had experiments before they were drilled on answering related process skills questions. My DD2 is currently taught by her and has been getting band 1 since P3.
My DD2 is joining her camp for P4 this June with her best friend too.
I want my kids to enjoy their holidays but learn something along the way too. Maybe I’m too kiasu!

They will be revisiting P4 - P6 topics.


She also asked to go for onsponge 1 week intensive lesson for maths as she was hoping to learn some new strategies for solving paper 2 questions and hopefully give her maths a push in prelim and PSLE.

We will also be increasing her EL tuition to twice a week.

Did your kids attend the holiday camps or the usual tuition classes at Concept Learning? My nephew has tuition classes already, but my SIL wants to find some intensive holiday programs to ‘drill’ her son. She is afraid he will play more during holiday when no one is at home during June. Thinking of putting him to all the camps to occupy his time.
