Hi Kiasuchabo,

I agree with iLoveChubby. I also have a helper at home but still send both my kids to fulltime CC. Besides academics, they also learnt social skills and also how to do things independently.

Cirriculum wise, you have to visit the CC to have a look at their cirriculum and activities they do before you finally decide on the CC to send your child to.

For us, we look for a CC with teaches both Chinese and English with emphasis on Chinese lessons conducted daily as we mainly speaks English at home and we wanted our kids to learn Chinese too.

Do take your time to visit the CC with your gal and enrol if you feel comfortable with the CC and your gal also likes the place.

No prob!... hmm... I see that you are staying v far from me so i m afraid cant give any sugg on the CC..

But always good to go visit the CCs, speak to the teachers, understd their curriculum/programmes, check out the environmt (cleanliness, food etc).. best to bring your kid along so that you can see if he/she is comfortable in that school.

Personally I dont thk good teachers are being differentiated by whether they are from childcare centres or from pre-schools.
You may need to look at the curriculum/programmes that they offer at the centre that you are considering your gal to be at... plus some \"LUCK\" whether your gal gets a good and dedicated teacher who are engaging and makes learning interesting for the kids.

Altho I have a helper, I still put my kids to childcare. My reason is I want them to be independent as CC trains them to eat by themselves, bath themselves (by K1/K2), take care of their own things etc. Of course they also get to socialise (v impt), share (or snatch..haha) toys/things, besides the academic aspects.

Some people feel that the hours in CC and in preschool is not so much difference in terms of learning as CC spends alot of time on the eating, bathing, napping so effectively the learning time is also abt 3-4 hours, like preschool.
