According to some research I've done over the web, if both parents have blood group 0+/-, the children will be 0+/-.

If either one of the parent is A or B, that will 'supersede' the 0 group, and the children will be A or B, depending on the blood group of that parent.

I know of a family with Father who is A and mother who is AB. None of the kids are 0 group, and all the 5 kids are: A, AB, B, A and AB!!
Remembered studying these in Bio class in sec sch... together with dominant & recessive gene... hehe.

My boy's delivered @ Raffles... blood group indicated in Health Booklet.

My kids are born at Thomson Medical Centre and their blood group are wirtten on the healthbook.

My two boys are born in Mt. Avenia, blood group is reflected in their health books.

Her blood type is indicated in the blood report that the hospital did when she was born. The report is stapled onto the first page of the health booklet.


They offer a replacement copy (at a price) if you’ve lost it. I’m not sure if it’s specific blood type identification but there are 2 other results included in this report.

if i remember correctly, the blood grp info is omitted recently cos it is irrelevant cos even if you need a blood transfusion or such, hospitals still need to retest your blood type regardless of what is stated in your IC.

I think they removed the blood type classification in the new generation ICs (ours is from our P6 IC registration in school, remember 😉).

Some hospitals will test the kids' blood during birth, some don't. My nephew at KK does not have such procedure. Both my kids at Mt E has. One of each of my boys' blood type follows each of the parent. :celebrate:

I also forgotten how the blood type in my IC came about... (can't remember where and when I got my blood typed done in my IC. I only remember when I did my pre-marital health check up I got my blood type done during the check up).
