my frd's maid put menstrual blood into her DH's coffee every AM,and mixed into the milk n fed her 1yr old toddler.

my ex maid ran to the nearby police st,claimed that we abused her.Police couldn't find any bruises or injuries on her.Ironically,police said they were going to close (it was Xmas eve)n asked us to pick her asap.We called her agent.Agent refused to pick her initially,at the end,picked her after few hours later.

the above are true stories ..... 3 out 5 maids will have such problems, statistically

How appropriate that I find this thread today - I just found out that my DH has two phones and not 1. To top it off, she has photos in the phone wearing my stuff and blangah FB friends. And mind you, she has no official off days. Sigh... Time to send her packing!

My maid was given a handphone and phone card by one of the workers who came to my house to do some waterproofing.


When I found out, i threw the phone away, called the contractor and gave him a shelling.

So if u wanna pre-judge me as inhumane and maid abuser....I don't really care... I have enough of all this nonsense..... so much so I decided not to have any FDW now.

Free incoming calls, or very generous employers? One of my godma's ex-maid helped herself to 10s and 50s from the family's wallets to sustain her three hps. She was still pretty broke (although worked with them for many years) when they finally caught on to her tricks and fired her.

I am ok with it as long as she is zi dong (automatic).
But she is only with me for less than 2 mths, i have seen her use her HP everyday.
Even when I am back from work. I cannot imagine how long she will talk during the day when no one is around at home.

She rather talk on the phone then clear plates.
THis is really getting on my nerve.
I plan to tell her that she can only use after 10pm.
Is this reasonable?
I scare she will give me black face or ill treat my kid.
I always tell myself must ren. Coz when i am not at home, I dunno what she will do to my kid. But there is a limit to this.

after reading almost all the posts, i want say....


Maids are just like anyone of us, all of them are human beings. If possible I think most of us, employers wouldnt mind allowing them to use HP for communication. They need friends just like us, they need their family members just like us. They need to pour all their sorrows when mood swings in and the list go on.....

BUT! They seems to have forgotten why they have to end up in another country to look for a job? [well that doesnt mean we have to take away their rights?] They seems to have forgotten what they had promised/agreed when they first started work. I bet, if my boss were to see me always on the HP with friends and family or surfing the net the entire day (working hours), you will see their unhappy face. If written or veral warning is given but we still keep yaking or smsing away and as a result work not done and deadline not meet, you will see a letter of termination on the table.

I think nobody want to be unreasonable. We must remember that our boss trusted and hired us to do our job well, they pay us 100% of our contract price (salary) but did we give our 100% services? :moneyflies:

Doesnt that sound reasonable? I put the same question across to some of the maid, so.. if they work 50% of what is agree upon, can i give them half of their salary? lolz.. most of them keep quiet.. :moneyflies:

I think everything we do must strike a balance. We must have self disciplines = self controls.

if you do not have self controls and ie, break the law, you go to jail. :lightrod: If a maid have HP addiction, we must correct it ourselves as this is not an offence :gloomy: (cos they are no different from drug addict).

:idea: But then prevention is better than cure, thus many of us rather not to let them have HP.
