My friends to,d me that their kids have been exposed to number bonds, simple fractions, composition and comprehension in K2.
While Zee does teach additions, subtractions, composition and comprehension but these are at slower pace and simple worksheets.

It depends on what you want for your child. For me, I was alright with it, especially when my kid enjoyed school and the teachers are really caring.
I’m not in a hurry to put him off school and my decision was proven right when during his primary school orientation, the principal kept stressing on not sending kids to tuition because kids get rowdy and distracted in class when they have already learned the syllabus outside.

And in the 4 years, my son was there, they had the same team of teachers, low turnover rate as compared to his previous school, the teachers change every few months.
Zee also had the odd case of HFMD occasionally but never had to shut down as the school is quick to react. In his previous school, they shut down twice, each time for 2 weeks within 1 year.

Amy overall experience with Zee has been good, hence will recommend it if you like the more relax pacing.

Carebearz

Reply to All About Schools With Good Support For Special Needs Kids on Sat, 01 Dec 2018 18:00:07 GMT

I am planning to locate my kid in zee juniors due the need for intervention. To be very honest with you, (i m a school teacher as well) , mainstream school has very limited resource to cope with children like ours. Every year the new P1s who comes in to school, will have about 3 -5 cases of special needs and the number is increasing by year. The AEDs and the counsellor cannot attend to each of them for long hours like in pre school or EIPIC centre.

However, i still believe that with strong family support, your child will be able to cope.
Especially that your child is a girl. According to my school counsellor, girls can recover / overcome this condition easier and faster than boys.

Just something to share: My son was diagnosed with ASD last year. We had no prior family history(from both sides) with children or any1 with this disorder. Relatives who do not understand looked at him in a ver different way. Could not follow all the instructions in the Childcare Centre that he attend. I was really upset and did not know how to cope at time. He throw tantrums also. Doctor refer him for therapy sessions and he was eventually referred to EIPIC at THK this February. Condition did not improve drastically. Until 3 months back, my SIL's friend recommended me to try out on Essential oil, and after 3 months , we (myself, SIL, BIL, and even my mum who is taking care of him) feels that his communication skills improve a lot. He is able to sit still for a longer period of time. This makes me certain that his condition can further improve if i persist. Any1 who is interested to try, can PM me. I can get my SIL to share more as she had been using the product for a longer period of time. Just to clarify, I am not earning anything. Its purely sharing. Y not give your child a chance to try. He/She may benefit.

Hi, I am interested to know more on the essential oil. can it also helps to reduce social anxiety?

durian0096

Reply to All About Schools With Good Support For Special Needs Kids on Sat, 18 Jun 2016 08:21:36 GMT

My son attended Zee Schoolhouse in the east area. This will involve responding to some questions and you will be asked to provide ratings on your views on the statements.

You may be contacted to participate in a second part of the study if you indicate interest. Four participants will be asked to participate in a semi-structured interview to discuss further their views and experiences of inclusion. Then even if there isn't a shadow teacher, it's not as bad.

I've not used a shadow teacher so can't offer any insights on how long it is needed.

In pri school, the FT requested for an AED to sit in during her periods (English and maths). The AED was a pushover though and couldn't manage my son that effectively. He only listened to the leader, ie the FT when he wants to.

mashy

Reply to All About Schools With Good Support For Special Needs Kids on Fri, 27 Mar 2015 03:08:42 GMT

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are an early learning intervention centre specializing in teaching children with special needs skills necessary for integration and independence.

Our Centre provides a nurturing and challenging environment where your child is encouraged to learn, grow and develop essential skills located in the northern side of Singapore.

For more information or if you are keen in our program for your child, you can contact us at 6757 3924.

Have a good day. :thankyou:

HT special needs

Reply to All About Schools With Good Support For Special Needs Kids on Fri, 27 Mar 2015 01:25:33 GMT

Dear all

can anyone please share your experience with hiring a shadow teacher? I just hired one for my boy in PCF K2. The support is good but I am stressed whenever I receive text message from the shadow teacher early in the morning telling me she is going to be absent that day. Due to small setup of the company I get the shadow teacher from, there will be no replacement. Can I ask if this is the ‘market practice’, ie no replacement if shadow teacher is absent that day? and can I also ask typically how long u use a shadow teacher for before deciding u can fade away with them?
