If she is rejected, likely the degree is not recognised. If a student studied for an overseas degree via external private institutions, the degree might not be recognised by the government bodies. If you studied for a degree from James Cook University in it's Singapore campus, you should be able to get it. However, if you studied a degree from Murdoch University through a Singapore partner, it is not considered \"obtained on campus\".<br /><br />Additionally, a degree is typically assumed that you understand it as a reputable degree. I.e. Only some degrees from certain universities are recognised, while others are not. There is no list you can check to confirm this but the rule of thumb is to avoid universities that isn't in the top 200 QS (world) rankings. A much more complicated but specific way is to check if the university is listed on MOM's website when applying for Employment Pass. U don’t really require to be highly-educated, just a few simple question of primary/secondary school.<br /><br />I won’t recommend relief teacher to actually teach a few topics because students may not adapt to new teaching style. Furthermore, once relief teacher is being replaced by original teacher, students have to revert back to original method taught.<br /><br />Anyone knows how’s the salary of relief teaching being calculated?</p>

Interesting that they added applicants with a diploma from SEED institute or other non-tertiary institutions need not apply.  They must have been flooded with applicants who hold a diploma in preschool education.</p>

She is under the kindy side.[/quote]<br /><br /><br />kindy is half day kind of classes?  Childcare centres ops full day.[/quote]<br /><br />Working hours at kindy from 7.30am to 3pm, they follow school holiday. It’s under moe. As for cc, it’s 9 hours working a day, some cc open on sat so teacher needs to come back on sat (half day), but not every sat…1sat work, 2sat off. It’s under mcys…not follow school holiday</p>

If MOE has doubts about someone's capability (especially conversing in  English, I believe), they may place the candidate as an untrained teacher for a year. Thereafter, the principal will recommend to MOE the suitability of the candidate as a teacher. If found suitable, he/she will be sent for the course.</p></blockquote></blockquote>That's not how it works..<br /><br />First, they select you for the interview. Then, after the interview, they will decide whether to offer you a teaching position (if they do, meaning already confirmed you as a teacher).<br /><br />NIE course intake is twice a year I guess. If there is some period until the course, they may place you in a school to teach and experience what is it like to be a teacher, maybe guided by some experienced staff. If you don't like it, you can withdraw. If you like it, you can stay on and wait for the course. Note that you are already confirmed, regardless of how you perform at the schools before the NIE course.<br /><br />Unless they change the system, then I'm not sure.<br /><br />Also, note that while waiting for NIE course and during NIE course, the untrained teacher is drawing FULL salary. (~$3.2k, hons, fresh grad)<br /><br />So, teachers is actually a very attractive profession.. not sure why so many pple complain here and there..<p></p></blockquote>Hv salary range, it depends the interview. Is there any reason why those applying for teaching posts should be offered a different pay scheme? :? </p></blockquote></blockquote>Better than some jobs (same qual) in the private sector..<br /><br />so.. govt job is good $$$$, including teaching.<p></p></blockquote>It is if you are able to tolerate the system.
