If you need a shareholders’ agreement and other additional work, the cost will increase correspondingly.


The other reason for needing a business consultant is when you need to put up a business plan. This is necessary especially when you need financing from say a bank for your business venture. Alternatively you can put up business plan yourself as there are many websites which provide good pointers.

Did that when DH wanted to register his business.

To encourage entrepreneurship, Acra have simplified the requirement n procedure.

If u approach accounting firm to help u in the registration, the low hundreds quoted by Pojo are likely to exclude the registration fee. Depending on the firms, I understand some firms charge in term of thousand even for simple registration.

I can say that as I did it myself some years ago. I cannot recall all the steps but if you are stuck with any step, feel free to raise it as I may be able to help.


Alternatively, you can seek the help of firms providing company secretarial services. You only need a business consultant to advise you on matters which are more strategic. For example you have a number of shareholders and you want to enter a particular line of business but is unsure of how best to position the company. If its straightforward registration ie only you and perhaps another person are shareholders, then just go to a company secretary. The fees are probably in the low hundreds, I believe.
