actually I have been picking up calls with ID +60 30 1.....they happened to be my mother, my colleagues, etc all from overseas .... and calls from skype always appear as 'Blocked number' .... office people from US calling overseas commonly use skype, so no running away from 'blocked number', not for want to remain anonymous

and, even when I am in US, I received calls from +65 6423 xxxx, which were actually from HK !

ooh..then maybe i will consider to pick up in future..what if smtg important and I miss out my family call :scared:

Yesterday I received a call from Singtel marketing and the number is +60 3 1.

So guess Internet phone gains its popularity.

I never pick up calls with weird numbers or "blocked numbers". If you are afraid of letting me know who you are so I can call you back, why should I allow you to call me on my number?

Anyway, there are lots of telemarketers that would use a modem to dial the list of telephone numbers that bought from some sources to confirm the authenticity of these numbers. If you answer the call, you will here a click and the call will be terminated. But they got you and they know that your telephone number is real.

Yes..it happened to me last week...few times per day, then it stop as I nv pick up the line.

I kept receiving these kind of call these days. It is from China and a PRC lady claim that she is from some court and requested me to pay some funds. of course i did not believe her claims.

just say okay and ask her to wait for the money lor ..... since you already picked up the call

even for sms asking for remittance, I will reply \"okay, sending money now\"

When they try to speak english, i will ask him what are you talking about and i dun understand, told them to repeat over and over again. Thereafter they hang up on me.. hahahaha

Me too, pretending only can understand English ! The fellow will hang up...ha!

When shopping mall having lucky draw or what ever events to fill up mobile no. I will only provide residential phone number instead!

Who knows the Co. staff might steal customers contact and sell...

I had a call from this number when I was in Malaysia during the holidays.. and i thought it was an 'urgent call' from Singapore and decided to pick up on the 2nd call (as the 1st call rang so long).

When i picked up, it was a Citibank telemarketeer!! can't they recognise the different ringtone when we are overseas!! told her i'm overseas and she still keep talking that i have to hang up the call. Wasting my money! :rant:

they are getting more jian these days... lots call from \"unknown\" number, then u dunno whether or not to pick up, cos sometimes legit calls are from \"unknown\" too, eg. workplace.

On wasting money, I feel like complaining abt the banks that call once u make an overseas transaction on yr credit card. YES it's me now can you stop talking so i don't have to pay $5 for your cheong hei ness?

can't they just do sms eg. \"if you did NOT make a trans at XX then pls call us at XX\"??? Boh NAO.

If you are in the \"mood\" to retaliate then pick up,

If you are not in the \"mood\", just ignore the call and let it miss.

Except when you are on handsfree and they call then you can't do anything about it.

However they are not the worst. I ever got nuisance call where I pick up and this indian lady started spouting the worst languages of all. I had to pick up the calls let her finished ranting. Must have \"evidence\" that I have received these calls, reported to police then reported to M1 then they will block the calls.

My BIL told us once he received a call from a PRC lady telling him he won

US$80,000 in a lucky draw but he needs to pay $500 for some admin fees to transfer the money to his bank account. He told the lady dun bother, just collect the money on his behalf and remit US$60,000 to him, the US$20,000 being commission for her 'hardwork' :evil:

Sounds like they chat among themselves trying to come up with rebuttals to our lines. We must persevere to outwit and irritate them!

I always say... 我不会说华语... in Chinese. It completely confuses them.
