What are the implications?

I happen to find out this through another maid......now scratching my head whether to kapo & tell the employer (not someone close). Fortunately for us she still had around a month until her medical was due so she stayed until we hired her replacement so that she could train her.

I didn’t really think much about the medical cost at the time. My view was that she had made a mistake, which we all do, and there was no point in me punishing her for it by sending her home immediately while at the same time making my life difficult.

Her boyfriend offered to pay for the ticket but I suspect that she ended up paying for it in the end so I just stayed out of it. I would have paid it for her as she had been a great maid and I knew that she had a tough time ahead of her.

There is no real need to report to MOM as you just create hassle for yourself. As long as she isn’t due for a medical she can stay for a while until things are sorted then go home.
