Since then I have also signed up my son who is now in P3 this year. I think everybody has their own favorite tutors who they will vouch for and mine is no exception. What started off as a strong recommendation from my aunt has turned into a wonderful relationship and a great experience for my children who really enjoy their lessons there. I think that is no easy feat for tutors and centres to make children want to attend their classes and at the same time deliver good results.

I have faced similar challenges finding tutor for my son. It was time consuming and frustrating with very limited options to choose from and that too without any real testimony that tutor I’m getting from tuition agency or teacher in “so called branded” tuition centers.
I feel, not just me most of the parent goes through this and definitely there’s a problem worth fixing. So I’m working on a project to find solution help parents. But I need help from parents to understand all the pain, problem and what they exactly look for. All the parents wants to help their kids to learn, but it private tutors or fancy tuitions centers are the only options?
I’m not selling anything here, its not a pitch, it’s a call to seek help from fellow parents. If we get the problem then only we’d be able to find a solution for it that would help the whole parent community and their kids. So I urge parents to share their experiences. Feel free to PM me if you don’t want to share on the thread.

She has got 7 yrs of experience with good credentials and is a master degree holder. She is very versatile and patient, probably because she has got 2 autistic brothers. Hence, her way of teaching is also very flexible and she’s able to change to cater to the needs or style of each student, be it Primary, Secondary or JC level. Her rates are quite justifiable given the results she can produce. But as she is a full time aerospace engineer, she has got limited timeslots given that she has quite a number of students on hand.

Kip Mcgrath. There's this teacher there that is really good. He teaches maths and english. My aunty recommended to me. She started her boy in P6. now he's doing his O'levels. According to her, they follow this tutor all these years because he's really responsible. Sometimes when exams is nearing. she discussed with him to do more classes. He is more than willing to help by coming down to the center even if its not open that day. The rate is reasonable. Best is results. Results proves everything.

Uhhh...You may wanna try Smartlab? My son is at the Marine Parade branch. So far so good. I can see there's improvement. Their rates are pretty okay too. I know an experienced tutor who teach A/E maths and Phy/Chem Private tutor at Bedok area. Used to teach my friend’s son and daughter. Both of them fail A maths and did badly in Science subjects before engaged, but score A1 in both subjects in O level in the end. My friend is very surprise with the outcome and would highly recommend to those students did very poorly in these subjects. She is also very passionate about teaching…

I think there is Also Caraven and Mind Stretcher.

They are all good Tuition Centre I have tested them all but my daugther still prefer Kent Ridge Tuition as she said she is enjoying learning there for the lessons are not that boring compared to other centre
