In our lessons, we customized the art programme based on the age group of the students. To develop and stimulate the interest and creativity towards art, also allow them to gain confidence.

Currently, I am conducting online art lessons only due to the circuit breaker which recently announced by government.

I cant see the picture anymore but I think, art for kids should be more focused on the process, not the outcome. They can learn so much from doing art, there are tons of research and articles online about the benefits of art not only creatively but also cognitively, socially and emotionally, and when you discourage them when the outcome is not so good, they won't enjoy it as much.

be mindful that art skills (drawing, painting, clay work etc) and art processes (imagination, creativity) are 2 very different things.

think of it like language, you learn grammar, syntax, vocab etc in order to write a story or poem for example. the story cannot be wrong cos its your story but the grammar or sentence structure can be wrong. Yet, at a certain level, you can actually let the grammar be wrong and make your story better by playing w language. same can be done in art.

most centers teaches specific art skills though. Thus many parents find that it discourage imagination and creativity. but at some point, skills may be neccessary so that ppl can understand whats in your art.

Their imagination may be very different from what is different from a teacher.

Don’t limit your child’s imagination. Let them draw whatever they want.

He’s turning 3 this year and I thought i would try him out for a few lessons. He’s been in class for 2 months. So far so good! The teachers are very attentive and patient. They update me after every lesson about his progress and he seems to enjoy himself a lot!

After she draw to her imagination, I visualized is a bird sitting on the branch and ask her if that is a bird…she nodded and I helped her to patch up a bit using her own fingers to guide her though…

The structure of doing art crafts with her was fun n interactive using Themes such like farm themes, faces themes, flower themes and weather themes since she was young.
Whenever we are out, same like SotongDaddy, I bring along a easel whiteboard where she will draw whereever she want.

Her grandma taught arts and I taught art to primary level and sec as an enrichment programmes.
Honestly, I don’t really like those art school not because I can teach her and save the $ but I know most of the enrichment centre unlike those academic levels like eng tutions or maths tuitions where children take exam scores and parent will know if they are learning.

When I conducted workshop for the little ones, I don’t stress them out with the output they must produce to show their Proud parents. I showed them the raw of what they really can do and of course my gfs laughed as they run their own imagination too when looking at the output.
After all, they are young great aspiration to all great imagination of their world

Art itself is very complex. In school, they are taught the foundation,
To explore their imagination, the best is to let their imagination run wild!

Had a mini one hung on her stroller.
Of cos she started with scribbling and slowly improved.
Wouldn't say she is very good but she has her own style.

It is the core benefit of arts.

if you see arts class show you a whole wall of drawing with similar pattern. or the kids can draw very beautiful line, shape, pattern, or colour. most likely these class teaches skill instead of creativity. it closes the door of creative mind of your kids.
