I demand an answer from you for deleting my topic "City Harvest Church is the Devils Den" without any explanation given to me.

I appreciate at least a private message to me stating the reasons for the deletion of my discussion.

Have our society regressed until a civilised discussion is not allowed? There are former City Harvest Church members in Kiasu Parents who can confirm the points I have raised yesterday.

this ksp is largely focused on schooling issues and of course we have some chit chat sessions in 'recess time' corner, but your tone and approach leaves one very suspicious - you join this forum just to blast the church - which what this website is not all about.

religions is one very sensitive topic not only in this website but all over Singapore in which ever media -- print or internet -- it is a sensitive topic

don't think this is not allowed - we have seen very lively discussions in time past, ranging from Ming Yi to Durai to CHC, AWARE, as well as New Creation etc etc

as other ksp members have pointed out, may be your post count is too low to be perceived as reliable. nothing personal about it. Most websites do not even allow newly joined members to start a new thread

Maybe that is why the issue just will not go away - no smoke without fire, as the saying goes.

These independent churches such as CHC and NCC are free to do whatever they like and they are not answerable to any governing body as long they are not breaking Singapore's law. Because there is lack of red tape unlike in denomination churches such as Methodist and Prebysterian, they can grow very fast and expand very quickly. However, because there is a lack of checks and balances for the top leadership of these churches, they may adopt practices or teachings that may conflict with others. This is what I think creates so much animosity towards these churches, even from other Christians.

There are quite a few incidents over the past few years that have left bad taste by these independent churches e.g. Kong Hee's Daily Bread plagiarism, Sun Ho's usage of the church to promote her CD, the AWARE invasion (can't remember the name of the church the members are from), NCC's usage of commercial companies to purchase lands (which triggered government's law response for the commercial to religious ratio rule), etc.

I do not doubt there are good and passionate Christians in these churches and I think it would be pointless to refuse to cooperate with each other just because of doctrinal differences. But I cannot deny that I feel some of the practices of these churches contradict or twist God's words. I know that one is supposed to respect others' viewpoints and opinions, but sometimes I wonder if indifference is really prudent.
