We happened to be at Millenia Walk the other day, so we ate at SBCD Tofu House for our couple date. Their “Soontofu” dish came with lots of tofu. Much much more than the Soondubu Jjigae at other places. Maybe because tofu is their speciality. DH said the soup tastes different but still nice.

I liked the hearty and filling taste that the plenteous tofu gave to the stew. But somehow I feel it’s not the authentic version of the dish. Maybe a native Korean will be able to tell us?

My personal favourite is at Hyang Yeon (80 Amoy Street #01-01, 069899). They have a website you can place reservations.

Also, the one at Ming Jia (Bt Timah Plaza, 1 Anak Bukit, #B1-55, Singapore 588996) is really good and they can do a non spicy version (for the kids really...then it tastes like some fish based stock soup, but it's still good). I'm referring to the one next to Watsons (there is another one with the same name but different menu - I never made out what their connection is. Also very good at Ming Jia is the seafood Jjampong (spicy seafood noodle) and their pork cutlet (girnormous cutlet with a smidge of rice, some cabbage/corn/beans).

You can search youtube for the recipe...doesn't look like it needs any special stock.
Perhaps you can find the things you need in Shine Korea supermarket or one of those korean shops in Bt Timah Plaza or Beauty World

Its the Ssikkek chain of korean BBQ restaurant. There is one at Novena Ville, one along Neil Road, one in Chinatown and I think one at Bras Basah. The food at the branches varies a little, but still very good value. Think i need another fix soon!

I like 2D1N Korean BBQ, tried almost all their branches.

The other place is at the food court of Marina Square. Right in front of the escalator, forgot the name now. Quite authentic too. Most of their wait staff are koreans.
