事隔7年　李敖又说新加坡人笨

继2005发狂言说新加坡人笨，人种不好后，李敖相隔7年接受中国周刊访问时，又再说新加坡人笨。

2005年9月，台湾知名作家李敖，56年来首次离台访问大陆的李敖下机后，对中、台、港、新4地华人的习性调侃，他当时说：“台湾人虽浑蛋但可爱，香港人比较坏，新加坡人比较笨，大陆人比较不可测。”

事过7个月，李敖在隔年上节目，对于“新加坡人笨”的评论作出了延伸谈话，用了25分钟，整整一集的时间来解释他为什么骂新加坡人笨。他的谈话大意是：新加坡人的祖先文化水平低，“种”不好，所以笨，结果惹怒了一些新加坡人，引起了热烈的讨论。

没想到，事隔7年后，77岁的李敖在今年4月20日接受中国周刊《外滩画报》的专访时，还是没有改变立场。

Unfortunately, yes. My friend who went for a cert in pre-school education, said her class has 1/2 study mama from PRC, their main purpose is to get Sg PR after they got the pre-school ed cert. The others are PRC/Pinoy or new citizen PRC/Pinoy pre-school teachers or aspiring pre-school teachers. Out of a class of 40, only 3 are locally born Singaporean, and 2 Malaysian.

actually there are study mamas from korea, indonesia, malaysia etc but somehow those from PRC seems to be the ones in the limelight often for the wrong reasons.

Yes, those from other countries they are realy here to be with their kids while they study, but those from china, is they want to come here for other purpose, then just nice got kids, can use as stepping stone.

When we send our kids overseas, we are supposed to have financial means. The whole idea of sending kids overseas is to make them learn to be independent. Then why is govt allowing study mamas to come here to stay?

they shouldn't send their kids overseas if they cannot afford it. Some time back when a group of study mamas wrote in to complain about the high costs of living here and they request the govt to allow them to work and guess what was the reply given? It is their duty to check the costs needed to stay here and to provide enough to last throughout their education. The reason why the study mamas are not allowed to work is to enable the child to have proper emotional support and care and the best person to give is the parents themselves.
Just as for anyone of us here who intend to send our kids for overseas study, surely we will do our sums and find out the total costs and consider the affordability etc before we take the plunge right? Don't think we will send them there hoping to find a school that is cheap and good and we can find a job to support ourselves.

Our Singapore women are highly intelligent and educated. Why should they go to china? To learn tactics from china women? A china-born friend herself told me that most of those 'study mamas' are not naive and simple women. They come here with their kids but usually engage in hanky panky business.

Quite true. However, there are some exceptions. One of my students wrote an essay praising her mum. She was about 15 years old when she came to study in a sec school. After a few months observing those study mamas around her, she was very thankful that her own mother refused to engage in similar activities and took on 2 jobs to support her. She worked so hard that she managed to get into express stream when promoted to sec 2 and scored 17 points for her O levels. I've another student whose parents are here with her. They have decent jobs. 😄
