[There's another dish that i particularly like with the potatoes cooked the same way... It's crispy fried pork chops with tomato sauce!


1. Use a meat hammer, beat, flatten and tenderise the meat, add soya sauce, sugar, garlic to marinate.
2. Beat some eggs, dip the marinated pork chop in the scrambled eggs... With eggs dripping... Coat the meat with flour mix with crushed biscuits... Fry the meat till golden brown... Place them on serviettes to soak up excess oil.
3. Prepare the potatoes based on my earlier posting and fry them till golden brown.
4. Pour tomato sauce into pan, add water, salt and sugar and bring to a boil. Add sliced onions to the boiling tomato sauce if desired.
5. Depending if you like your fried potatoes slightly soft and soaked with tomato sauce or just slightly coated with tomato sauce (in which case, you add in the fried potatoes to the sauce just before serving).
6. I like mine slightly soft and soaked with tomato sauce, so I'll add my fried potatoes into the boiling tomato sauce... Stir the mixture... Add flour/water mixture to thicken the sauce. Turn off the fire.
7. Take the fried pork chops and cut them up into strips... Pour the thickened tomato sauce with the potatoes onto the pork chop strips.
8. Chop some fresh parsley and sprinkle on top ....
9. WAH LAH! Bon Appetit!

Disclaimer: This is what I remembered my mum used to do... I have not tried this before... But based on what I can recall... Shd not have a problem whipping this dish up πŸ™‚

I've yet to try all the rojak there but i know
for sure i tried one that's facing the newspaper
stand. Not sure about the stall number... but it
is nice. The gravy is what matters. Has to be

ZacK, you have made my taste buds tingle with mentions of the rojak you are talking about. And I like the gravy sweet, nutty, and with some peanuts, or anything crunchy in it, too! Can you tell me which of these rojak stalls are better? :drool:

Actually I like both stalls at the Ayer Rajah Hawker Centre... The two stalls are along the same row, so if you are facing the row of stalls now, you will find one stall on the left and one stall on the right, segregated by a walkway leading to the inside of the hawker centre.

If you are facing the stalls now, I first tried the stall on the right and liked it enough for me to go back to the hawker centre just for rojak. Second time round, I tried the stall on the left and liked it as well... The stall owner know how to do biz lar... I had to pay $4.30 for my rojak, but he rounded down to $4... So naturally I felt that was a nice gesture... So subsequently just visit the stall on the left lor πŸ˜„

In terms of gravy, both stalls are quite similar IMO... belonging to the nutty sweet type :love:

So far I have tried both stalls for rojak and usually go to the one nearer to the POSB ATMs .... Yes I like my gravy a lil sweet and nutty vs nutty and salty.

Talking abt mee mamak... On my way out to grab lunch, one of my preggie colleague had craving for it and a few of them took a cab to Seah Im hawker centre near Vivo juz to satisfy her cravings....

Making me feel like going over to Ayer Rajah for mee mamak for my dinner later :oops:

Rojak is another favourite of mine.
Gosh, you just reignited my craving for one!

I’ve yet to try all the rojak there but i know
for sure i tried one that’s facing the newspaper
stand. Not sure about the stall number… but it
is nice. The gravy is what matters. Has to be
flavourful, nutty and a lil’ sweet for me…

Stall 59 wasn't really spicy to me...
More tomato-ey... red like mee
goreng but without much spice.
I am after all a spice girl.. :lol:
So i did ask for extra chillies..
But didn't exactly feel the spiciness.
But it was nevertheless still a nice
dish to savour then. I still liked the
eventual eating thing... :lol:
Hmmm these are the two stalls that sell indian rojak oso rite? Ok shall try that next time.. I like mine tomato-ey :love:
