Drilling is not as simple as it seems..

You do not put the drill bit in place, on power, push a little, and expect the drill to dig.

You must push, and push really HARD, for the drill to go in, to get a nice, deep hole for the plug.

Not many pple could do this at first try as it just seems natural that the drill bit will dig itself with a little \"push\".. and natural for pple to worry that the drill bit might break etc..

If you happen to drill into a pillar....... it is really not that fun..

of coz, you can try....

ps: concrete is very, very different from wooden or metal.. the drilling experience, that is..

Agreed. My dad is a very hands on person and he guided me.

The first time i drilled a hole, I was really surprised at the force I needed to push the drill to ensure it goes in properly. That is why it is necessary to have proper ladder or stool so that the point you need to drill a hole is at arm level, so can use the shoulder strength to exert force. A couple of holes and you will work out a sweat, believe me. Of course my work is like that of an ametuer.

oh yes, good drill helps a lot. Some knowledge of which drill bit to use is also necessary,
And do not try drilling into a beam.

After my experience, I do not grudge these people the money, it is really hard work and good skill.

doubt you can fix a leaking tap.. prob you need to replace the tap.

As for leaking pipes (at the joint), that can be fixed.

limlim, i think Lynn thinks that a change of washer, some white tape would fix it.
If the tap itself is leaking then of course it has to be changed. If there is a valve to control the water flow of this tap, changing is easy (of course must have right spanner)

Hi 24hr-mum,
I just pmed u the number. Btw, his name is Lee not Lim as I had earlier mentioned.

Please check with him riding the charges. He first came to fix a ceiling fan, since then i call him for small works. He usually doesn't charge transport . He charges more based on how much work you need him to do.

I am not the husband yet unfortunately I am the electrician/plumber/carpenter of the house. All all the credit I get for it is s spectic DH asking \"are you sure this is ok, dont be so stingy , get the expert.\" :skeptical:

If you wanna do it yourself, best way is to get a drilling machine. You need to drill a hole , put in the plug and then put the screw in.

But if you wanna the easy way out,
I will pm you uncle Lim's tel no:, who will do it faster for $20 or so depending on how much work you have . Dunno iof he will travel to you your place since he stays in the west but can try.
