Note that as of 2012 onwards, Nan Chiau has been converted to a SAP school and no longer accepts normal stream students. Xinmin still has normal stream students.<br /><br />Based on my past records, Xinmin PSLE COP and mean seems to be higher than Nan Chiau , but to note that Nan Chiau COP has also risen over the last year. The sec sch principal has informed their affiliated pri sch that they can expect their PSLE COP to move towards the 240+ range in the next few years.<br /><br />Both are good schools, so bring your kid to visit to see his preference based on the environment, CCAs, etc.<p></p></blockquote>Pen 88n,<br /> Thank you for the info.<br />Band 2 sch is fine with me.<br />DD is very relax type. Band 1 school means average L1B5 (1st language + best 5 subjects) for O Level is &lt;11 points. Band 2 = 11 points, Band 3 = 12 points, etc.<br /><br />So in addition to choosing sec sch by their PSLE COP, you should also look at their banding as it indicates how well they have prepared their students for O Levels. For secondary school, the target ones are 20mins - less than 1 hour on public transport.<br /><br />dd1 is P5 this year had the opportunity to be selected to attend a P5 camp in NYGH this year. She wasn't impressed.... I let her go as I thought it might motivate her. But logistically I don't think it's feasible since we are in the north east area and I don't think she can make it in terms of results.... She also went to Chung Cheng Main before and came back telling me it's like a temple... :faint:  Her target is TKGS.<br /><br />ds is P4. Maris Stella would be ideal for him in terms of location, academic level and his passion. But I was contemplating if I should let him try DSA at SJI when his time comes....
