<![CDATA[Indo maids - Can go for home leave without KTKLN card?]]>hi all,


Need your advice. Can an Indonesian maid go back for home leave and be back at Singapore, without KTLKN card?

Suppose I renew my maid’s work permit for another 2 years upon original expiry. But she would like to go back for home leave before starting on the new 2-year contract. I can get the MOM renewal documentation all done before her home leave. But the 1 item she does not have now is the KTLKN card.

Can she still come back with the work permit, without the KTLKN card? If I understand correctly, KTLKN card can only be made in Indonesia and cannot apply through the Indonesian embassy in Singapore, is it correct?

KTKLN card can only be done in Indonesia's MOM.


But to make the KTKLN, you need:
1. Employment contract, signed at Indo Embassy @ Singapore.
and to do this, you need:
2. Valid WP for over 1 year.

If your FDW's WP is too close to expiry, the embassy will ask that you renew the WP before signing the contract. So looks like if she is keen to stay, she will have to renew her WP first; then goto Indo embassy to get the contract signed, then go home leave, and while in Indo, make KTKLN card.

1) Do you also happen to know the procedure of contract signing at the indo embassy?
2) What docs do we need to bring along?
3) Will we get everything done within a day? Or do we need multiple visits?

If i’m not wrong, the card can only be done at either Surabaya or Jakarta Airport. Cant really remember if there’s any other locations. She must also buy an insurance before she can apply for the card in Indo.


Before she even goes back to apply for the card, both of you (if she’s hired under your name) needs to go to the Indo Embassy to sign a contract. She needs this contract to apply for this card back in Indo.
