Im too having problems with my boy for next year P1 intake. I live in the west area. The schools which I aiming for is Princess Elizabeth but is too far from my place at Jurong East. Thought of putting him in Jurong Primary.. but not to sure if its a good school...
Nevertherless... even Jurong Primary is more than 1km from my place.. you see... please help.. any suggestion... :roll: ???

I heard that normally the school will not put a transferred student into academically better class even if he/she is good at academic in previous school, is that true?
In addition, the classes in Jurong primary are not just named as A,B…F, instead each class has a meaningful name. Does anyone know the class name and about the academic ranking of each class?

My son is not in student care. I saw the student care inside the school compound. But I have seen like a group of students walking towards the school just b4 lesson time. An adult was leading the students. I'm not sure if they are from a nearby student care or not.

For maths and chinese, they use MOE approved textbooks. For Engliah, the teacher will read a story. The story is actual teacher teaching tools because it's a big story book. The children will read the story too. Then the vocabulary and english lesson will be based on that story. The students will be given worksheets based on the story. Oh yes, we make payment at the beginning of the year for the english worksheets. My son has a folder in school for each subject.s worksheets.

Even the spelling list is based on the vocabulary from the story.

The maths worksheets are from the maths workbook. Like wise for the chinese.

For both english and chinese, my son has show and tell. Total 2 show and tell per subject so far. The teacher will guide the student with the show and tell framework. Then the student needs to go back home to write their story and practise. This is when parents like me will get busy. Hahahaha. The student is required to show and tell in school in front of his classmates.

Thank you very much for your kind wishes as it comes true. My boy will be in JPS next year. :rahrah: Just called the school this morning and was informed that all Singaporeans get their seatings. :rahrah:

I feel that we (as SC) are very luck this year as the competition for SC is not as great as past few years. The vacancy has changed from 78 to 81 on the 3rd day and increase the chances.
