Anyone has a good dentist to recommend for my 3 year old boy? It’s going to be his first experience. And I really hope it will be a pleasant one.

If everything's peachy, then continue follow ups with them.
If not, NUH has a good pedodontist for kids who need more tooth attention. Dr Catherine Hong is really good with kids and patient. My son did his crowning at 4yo and has no phobia of the dentist.

( novena medical). She’s the best pediatric dentist that my kids have seen and they’ve seen 3 before her. Together with the assistant, they put the kids at ease, show them the equipments, make the kids feel helpful. Nice clinic as well.

Someone recommended Dr Rashid Tahir of The Kids Dentist to my wife.


BIG MISTAKE.

When my wife brought my son there, it was a most unpleasant experience. While he was not rude per se, he came across as cold and condescending, certainly not what you would expect of a dentist specializing in pediatric dentistry.

I certainly will NOT recommend him to anyone at all.
He is arrogant, I must say. But he is good. He operated on my ds (7yo then) & did a really good job. The anaesthetist and the operation theatre that he got were excellent. Overall, I was satisfied.

All went well, both dentist and assistant are young and kiddish in a good way because they were able to engage him very well. Son displayed no fear at all throughout the checking and cleaning process. There was even an element of fun. Believe they are specially assigned to handle small kids so that the first dental experience will be a pleasant one. Total cost $20+ only.

He’s excellent with kids and put my 3 year old at ease very quickly. I especially like the Parkview Square branch, it’s beautiful and has a kids waiting room. It also helped that I started reading the book ‘First Experiences’ by Usborne regularly to my child prior to our visit. It gave him an idea of what to expect during the dental visit.

Really appreciate your affirmation for Dr.Ong service and to emphasis "have good experience on kids first dental visit". I’m also hesitate to send to PD dentist due to cost but i believe my little quite & shy boy needs a good experience during his first dental visit. Dr Ong attended to my boy when he was 4 years old. She did his crowning under GA. She is expensive but good with young kids.

That procedure cost me a bomb but it was for his own good. It was too early for him to lose a molar as it will affects the alignment of his permanent teeth. He still has that silver crown intact !

I think it is important for kids to have good experience on their first dental visit.

The dentist are really good with kids and the clinic setting is fun and makes kids relax. Subsidize for singaporean - scaling and polishing affordable @ $9. But you have to call in advance and expect to wait for months.

She is available only on Saturdays, but she is very nice. In the first visit, she took time to let him get accustomed to the setting. There are toys there, and she simply checked his teeth when he showed signs of uneasiness. She also gave him toys and taught him how to brush. Subsequent visits, he knew what to do and was ok.

His clinic decor is very child friendly and I guess this is something that will entice the kids. You can look for Dr Rashid of The Kid Dentist located at the Camden Medical centre. He is good in dealing little kids. Both my kids are with him since 4 years till now ( already P1 & P3).
