Strange rule… but anyways….

And, my maid will also come back 1 day before us (from our holiday). So, I'll just pass her our house keys, & she'll come back on her own. Probably just give some cash for her to take a cab home.

I decided to do the OEC (home leave) myself. Can anyone who done it themselves, share with me how is the procedure ?
I understand need to make an appointment online. Then what is expected on the 1st appointment ? Must the maid go or employer go ?

Another question is, we intend to go holiday when the maid is away.when the maid back in Singapore, can she go home herself or employer must fetch ? As she will come back one day before me.

So, I'm contemplating doing it myself, but I also read in the Phil Embassy's website, that \"eligible\" employers are the ones whose maid has completed 2 yrs of work service with them.
I went back to the original agent as they were quite helpful. If she hasn't completed 2 years the embassy will not allow you to do it yourself so no choice. It's a very strange rule but not much we can do about it!

Now, my question is, do I need to apply for specific paperworks to ensure a smooth custom/immigration checks upon her return?

If yes, where do I go, & how much will it cost?

Yes, you do need paperwork for her to go home. If this is her first contract with you and she hasn't completed 2 years, you will need to go through an agency to do it. I think the last time we did it they charged $200+

May I ask any kind souls whom can advise on:
- what is the norm for home leave? As in did MOM states if employers need to bear the 2weeks home leave pay? (I understand that we gotta continue paying levy which cld be reimbursed subsequently if she returns but I can't find anything abt the pay itself.
- if MOM says employers don't need to pay for the 2wks salary, I think it is sufficient and kind enough for us to continue paying her 2wks and ask her to do the balance 2wks as no pay?
- as she is returning prior to being employed by us for 2yrs, the documentation has to be done via an agent? My agent quoted me $350. Ques: will the fees be lower if they only return at the end of 2 yrs?
- any other factors / costs that I shd consider?

Thank u so much! Having a FDW around is really both an asset and a prob... It doesnt help that MOM's rules are tilted towards FDWs and expect employers to pay for everything 😞

The contract states that you should compensate her the amount of the air ticket. For a Filipina I would benchmark against the Philippine Air ticket price i.e. somewhere between the budget airline price and SQ.

I just got an agent to renew my maid's work permit and home leave (she is gg back next mth) after realising it is too much of a hassle to do the documentations myself at philippine embassy.

Chanced upon this agent on a mail flyer. He popped by my place to collect and send the docs so you & your maid dont hv to step out of the house! Super convenient!
And his fees is one of the lowest in the market (I have called up alot of agencies and compare).

If she has not completed her first contract with you, you cannot do the paperwork for home leave yourself, you will need an agency to do it for you. You can let her go back whenever you want; it has nothing to do with her WP expiry.
