[/quote]yes it can be tiring. My ds's school has 2 prelims. After prelims 1, then came PSLE oral. After PSLE oral, then came prelims 2. After Prelims 2, PSLE listening next week. My ds already complaining and said that he is very stress. I try to monitor him, in between studies, bring him occasionally out for lunch and dinner. Very scare to rock the boat......

Alamak! Just when I thought my ds is done with prelims. Today he brought back prelim 2 exam schedule -- next week & the week after (i.e. during sep hol)! I am guessing that the marks for this will not be taken in as there is no official letter to parents. There was also no mention of it during the PTM last week. The teacher did mention about mock test though.

o_o Luckily my primary school only had 1 prelim.

Can the PSLE examiner have such behavior??? And did not show respect of the candidates...is totally affect the child's... what can i do??

Did you feedback to MOE? You may check with your girl's classmates to re confirm. I think the examiner does not sound professional to me. Being a teacher, he has to carry himself properly in order to gain respect & set a good example to the students.

LOL I would be very shocked if that happened to me. I wouldn't be able to focus properly either.

Using Prelim results to proceed to sec sounds possible, but what happen if all of the students want to go to the same top schools? Moreover, school Prelim papers' standard vary and it is difficult for the top schools to differentiate the brightest ones from the average ones.

They made students stayed back for supplementary classes 4-5 days a week, and sometimes up till 7pm. Upon going home, kids still have to do homework to hand in. I personally think that towards the PSLE, the school and parents should look into the stress experienced by these P6 kids and cut down on the workload (instead of cramming last minute). Quality, not quantity, counts.

Hi Imami, I mean instead of taking OSLE and Prelim , maybe can just take PSLE . Cause the current system is now children are preparing for Prelim and at the same time taking PSLE oral .... Struggling with both . It will be good if MOE can just set a fair paper for all p6 and based on the result from this paper .

Ah, understand. But then there would still be folks who stress over that very one paper/set of papers. I personally think what needs to be managed / changed is the mentality of the parents/teachers/ whoever who is stressing the kids. The children should also be learning how to cope with stress/how to release stress.

During my growing up years, I didn't give a damn about prelims - be it psle or o levels. The prelims are just Mock exams for me, so there was no stress. I just go and have a feel - can finish in three hours or not? Can do without calculator or not?
