i sent my 3 kids to extraedge for pri and sec science and math lessons 2 years ago. they were taught by a couple who were their part-time teachers. they were very good with the subj as both were professionals from engr and audit background. my kids loved them and i got the female teacher to give POA private tuition to my eldest. the male teacher gave practical and fun examples so my kids can apply them. i can give you their contact if you want.

Their teachers may be moving to Clear Mind or something like that…it is near where they used to be-Kensington. So they said the kid can still be under their teachers but just that we would deal with Clear Mind and not ExtraEdge anymore. My friend was quite disappointed cos she wanted her kid to join but now they suddenly close. Am also quite puzzled. If they are doing well, they can always find another place nearby-serangoon central etc and I am sure their students will go with them.

The last I heard (2 weeks back) was they were trying to talk to another centre in the same vicinity to see if they can take over the teacher and class. But no news yet.

"Fortunately" for us, we’ve the contact of the teacher so we intend to approach him directly for private tuition especially after seeing the results that our kids have put in, we were reluctant to give up.

That is really strange, you mean they did not inform the students and the students just turned up for class? Actually ExtraEdge was one of the centres recommended to me by my friend for good science tuition.

Are they closed down permanently or looking for another place? My friend's dd has completed her psle and so is no longer there and thus my friend can't give any information on this as well. Were you with ExtraEdge? Did they say anything at all about their closure?

Heard that they are not accepting any new students currently since they still can't find a place....

I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they will manage to find somewhere in the end. Closing it is such a pity.

My child is taught by Jason. He is good. Very engaging so they learn in a fun way that helps them to register the learning and build the interest. He also teaches them techniques for answering section B. Not sure about other teachers.
Oh that is really a pity, how come they cant find any other place? :?

Is Jason an exschool teacher?

May I know if extraedge more for tuition or enrichment? I am helping a friend to ask. I know they are in the serangoon gardens area..are they planning to move?

I think they are in between since it's a fine line.

They teach based on the school syllabus. But they also do things like experiments, etc... The kids will do science practise papers as well as top school papers to prepare them for exams. Eg. during PSLE marking week, they had 3 lessons that week so the term end earlier (right after SA2). My child got to practise top school papers and revise for exams. We didn't have much time for science during our revision but she managed to do well.

They did some of the stuff like the bread mould thingy at home as part of their class work. They get to observe the changes and hence able to relate more. Observed that is a common exam question.
