<![CDATA[How much time you spent with your child]]>I want from every parents to share here, how much time they spent to their child. Because in today’s busy life most of the parents don’t have time for their children.

I didn't. Too busy with after school classes and training. I had Lep classes and swimming practices twice a week each. Then modular enrichment classes once a week. I can only remember going to the cinema once during those days.[/quote]u hardworking.... :celebrate:

Ballet is enrichment. For body and soul.

Until it becomes a pressing need to ACE exam after exam and later on to use for DSA. 🦆 Unless of course like they say, the children are the ones who enjoy it and insists on doing it. 😉 Different story altogether.

Anything that is for the child's interest and no grades attached is enrichment in my books. If your child loves maths and want to take extra maths classes for fun, that is also enrichment to me.

Personally, I think a mix of academic (math, phonic, language etc) and a bit of extra like speech and drama, ballet, music, arts etc are nice. So long as the kid enjoys, has time for the classes without sacrificing sleep, play and dream time, just go for it. 😄

I do sit beside kids when they get hw done.

That’s what recommended by their life coach.

It works. We grow closer to each other and now my kids would tell me about their problems. At least I could guide them in the right way.

Anyway my parents were never home before 7pm so I just made sure I was home by 7pm.

when could we leave the children alone at home? When they r 11 or 12yrs old?

I started leaving my DS alone at home this year. Usually if DH and I go out for supper or movies. Occasionally we go out after DS goes to bed. We usually let DS know if we are going out.

Yup yup. Me guilty of both Centrepoint then Northpoint, in that order. Marina kids anyone? That was later part, when SG more developed.

He gets home at 2pm, starts homework at 3pm or later, and goes cycling or swimming at 5pm. At night we will just go through his tingxie and he may do his piano practice. If we go out for dinner, he does nothing. At 9pm I read to them (more for the preschooler), lights out by 9.45pm.


Today he has CCA and will get home at 4pm. He will loiter, do some homework, then go swimming with his friends if it doesn't rain. He will be there for one and a half to two hours. After dinner will be piano practice. That is it.

My younger one came home at 12 plus. After lunch I took him cycling, bought some snacks and set up obstacle courses for him at the playground. Played two games of chess, and showered him. He is entertaining himself now coz I need coffee... :snooze:

So I will strike a bargain with them…we work very hard until 15/5…then we enjoy ourselves.
