My \"lowly educated\" helper has been giving me one problem after another. I didn't hire her for her educational qualifications (or lack thereof), but rather for her *supposed* honesty. Alas, I have been experiencing one lie after another. She's married in her early twenties, but I have to handle her like a pubescent teenager. But we are also held hostage by the current policies for hiring helpers. And there is no sure guarantee that the next maid will be better, and we'll just end up paying more and more.

heysugarbug

Reply to How about maid's laptop? on Mon, 17 Sep 2012 01:35:11 GMT

peapot:

Lynn2010:
Do you think by saying \"use only after 8pm\" works? Of course we can't monitor them all the time - the same as my boss can't monitor what I'm doing when I'm at work - but the rule needs to be there.

Personally, I don't think saying that she can't have a laptop because her job doesn't require one, is not really feasible. What she does after she finishes work is her business; if she buys books to read they are not necessary for her job but would you stop her?

nms1

Reply to How about maid's laptop? on Sun, 16 Sep 2012 22:57:49 GMT

Do you think by saying "use only after 8pm" works? But she came back from off day and bought a mini laptop. I told her it is ok to use as long as she finishes work but she took for granted. She started using so frequently and addicted to facebook with thousands f friends. I fed up and stopped her using my wireless. I asked her to keep her laptop but she already ‘addicted’ to Facebook so now she uses phone face booking. Sigh! Should have stop her using laptop before h gets ‘hooked’ to facbook. Anyway sending her off soon.
