i might hv not been very clear in explaining my prob. it is not the bottletrap under the sink but rather the main/sewer line.

underneath the sink, the water will drain into the sewer line. The slow drainage occurs at this point.

but, i did my research & found out that those gel/powder types must be used with care cos it might corrode the adhesive.

and also the snake especially those electric type must be used with care. sigh!!!

Have you cleared the bottletrap? Usually, I will clear that first (ok it’s really dirty work) to remove all the coagulated oil, debris first. Then after that, I will boil hot water (at least 2 kettles required) and pour down the drain just to clear all the oil.

Eh wait, you talking about those long thin furry ones or the ones used for cleaning longkangs?
OT & TS, borrow yr thread to ask \"Where to purchase pipe cleaner for longkang?\" The pipe that run from the base of the sink to the main is draining slowly.

So, I got a simplified version of plumber auger aka plumber snake but it didn't really solved the problem.

Calling in plumber to use the electric snake will set me back by $300+ per trip per toilet. I hv called them on a yearly basis & now thinking of giving it a shot.

Thus, anyone tried to DIY yrself & what did you use??
