We use a lunchbag with ice packs inside . He’s in the afternoon session and so far it has worked well. He doesn’t mind cold food (weather is usually so hot anyway!) and I’d prefer not to let him bring hot food in a thermos flask - risk of scalding himself in a crowded canteen.</p>

But for the rest I will most likely pack lunch for them.<br /><br />There are lots of recipes that can be made the night before, and warmed up in the morning before packing them in compact thermal bento box.  Base on my own experience (I usually pack my own lunch to work), the food won’t be cold by lunch time.  In fact some items such as tofu salad &amp; onigiri are best served at room temp. anyway.</p>
