From what i know British Council & Learning Point only accepts K1 onwards.

ICR and LW in united square & Lcentral are beyond my budget ($450-$500/term) and stretches too long.

Looking for something that stretch about 1yr. Anyone can advise or really must pay high fees :(? Thanks.

I have faced similar challenges finding tutor for my son. It was time consuming and frustrating with very limited options to choose from and that too without any real testimony that tutor I’m getting from tuition agency or teacher in “so called branded” tuition centers.
I feel, not just me most of the parent goes through this and definitely there’s a problem worth fixing. So I’m working on a project to find solution help parents. But I need help from parents to understand all the pain, problem and what they exactly look for. All the parents wants to help their kids to learn, but it private tutors or fancy tuitions centers are the only options?
I’m not selling anything here, its not a pitch, it’s a call to seek help from fellow parents. If we get the problem then only we’d be able to find a solution for it that would help the whole parent community and their kids. So I urge parents to share their experiences. Feel free to PM me if you don’t want to share on the thread.

Hi liwan you can try the centre! it is new in lor 7. but they did a really good job!
my ger has never pass her exam papers, but she did very well this mid term. i joined them end of last year after edustar (1.5year) fail me!
Anyway, they were certain that my daughter will pass her exams. She did her CA1 and she fail. I got worried. But lucky i was patient. because i was only with them for less than 3 months how can i expect miracle in such short time span. Anyway, her math n english result for SA1 came back and both scored over 70! (less than 7months)
I can't express how happy and grateful i was. So please give it a try. 🙂

hi. I have enrolled my kid(primary) and my cousin's boy (secondary) in Kip Mcgrath toa payoh lor 7. I think they are new there but they seem to have several centres in singapore. So far it has been a month and they seem to be enjoying their lesson there. The teachers are very patient with them too. So far so good. 🙂

my daughter has been going for tuition for E/M/C since p1. I am now more than happy to see her improvement because she has never pass her exams. Eversince i put her in kip Mcgrath toa payoh lor 7.. She returned with a 71 for her english. Her math from never ever pass to 78! my husband and myself was so happy. We have to share because we were there for less than 6 months only.

however, I'm planning to send my boy for tuition next year since it's only a month away from exams. nothing much can be done last minute.
meanwhile , the centres will be revising the fees as well. shall see to that in due time.

Hi there,
Apparently i’m also staying in TPY and actively looking for English tuition around the area too.
i managed to check out a few centres at the TPY central. Ranging from $80 - $280 for 4lesson/month.
more or less cultivate the same teaching methods across the centres.
However it’s also my first attempt to get a tuition for my DS, he’s now in primary 2 , moving on to class result grading very soon. Though it’s a little too late to start but better than nothing done at all.

I was just sharing with another parent in another thread. I was looking for an English enrichment programme and I stumbled upon Young Wordsmith. I spoke with the instructor, who seems really passionate about English, and said that as part of the programme, they will do a face-to-face assessment with my kids to identify their weaknesses before classes.

I also like the fact that they will cover general knowledge and current affairs in their course instead of just technical aspects of writing. I find that kids sometimes can't write because they don't know what to write or can't write logically, rather than because their English is poor.
