I think it makes learning the language more interesting and fun. Grammar worksheets, comprehension practices and story writing are done around a central theme. I think the teachers in the school produce their own worksheets etcโ€ฆ But perhaps,as usual, although in theory, the directives and motives of the program sound excellent, in practice, itโ€™s very much up to how individual schools implement the program that differentiates the teaching standards.

I also agree that teachers should be given more leeway to award grades and not be tied down to rigid marking codes. If the examination board is concerned that marking standards differ between different markers, then have two or three different people mark the paper.

You can also have fun with discussing silly questions like \"are oranges better than apples?\" or \"would you rather be a bird or a mosquito?\" - no answer is wrong and the more answers the merrier. It seems silly but it makes kids think, and we've had a lot of laughs over such questions.

Ask kids to give opinions (good/bad, like/dislike), and to support them with reasons. There should be no 'right' answers for such questions.
