It doesn't matter how you test it. So MOE can change its PSLE format all it wants. I am just glad that I got my child to be truly competent at home... without really worrying about what strange things the teachers in school were doing. Like for example... comprehension questions can only be answered in ONE sentence. I didn't understand why. So I looked past it and worked on having FUN with my little ones.<br /><br />Unfortunately, I never did it for Chinese because I didn't know the PSLE now tests True Competence... and that drilling doesn't work anymore. We were just LUCKY that I love English and love playing with it.<br /><br />As long as PSLE tests True Competence, then the same books I used for my kids are still useable for my grandkids because as long as the child is competent, he'll score. It doesn't matter what the PSLE becomes. BUT it matters how you teach it. If the teaching is poor then the child won't get competent and won't score.<p></p></blockquote>Grandkids! It just seems like God's miracle that the PSLE now tests to True Competence... and that the foundation laid by these books now place him at the top of the class for English... and till now, I have not had to do a single Synthesis and Transformation assessment exercise with him... and he does not do top school papers for English.<br /><br />Amazing right?
