I just bought PSLE Prelim 2012 science papers. The answers found in the answer key for Sec A for Pei Chun, Tao Nan papers so far is wrong. If anyone experiencing the same and managed to get the right answers, pls pass it on. Thanks a lot.

Tao Nan 2012 Prelim Q11 is answer 1 correct ?

I think that answer is not 1 as nothing in the question to suggest a reduction in population of rats prior to March. Moreover, if population of rats decrease prior to March, the reduction should be steeper after March when snakes are introduced and not reducing at a constant rate. Hope it helps.

Q.7) Answer is 3

Explanation: The teacher expect the pupils to assume that the air bubbles contain only oxygen, which is only produced during photosynthesis. Photosynthesis only occurs in the presence of light, thus the number of bubbles formed would decrease from 2pm to 10pm as the amount of light also decreases during this period.


Q.18) Answer is 4

Explanation 1: The teacher explained that when \"the temperature varies between 21 C and 40 C\", the temperature never actually reaches 40 C or 21 C, but instead it usually hovers around the middle (30 C - 33 C). Even if the temperature does reach the absolute extreme (which is very unlikely to happen), it would only last for a day at most, thus it would be safe to assume that seeds L and M would be able to germinate.
Explanation 2: The teacher explained that the seeds would be able to germinate even if the temperature exceeds the range given in the table a bit, thus it would be safe to assume that Seed M would be able to germinate even at 40 C.

Dd answers got the same same answer as yiur son except question 26. Her ans is 1.
