First and foremost, determine the amount of weight the child need to lose. Base on that, set goal and encourage more physical activity. Do not let the child snack on soft drink and junk food. As children are growing, it's best not to limit the range of food they eat but rather watch how much &amp; what type of food they consume.  Cut down on junk food &amp; soft drinks especially.  As for supplements, got to be very careful cos' poor quality ones may do more harm than good.
