The part in bold...that's becos DHS dont take in JAE students, they prepare their students for A level in Yr 3 onwards ??<br /><br />From my gal's batch...I was told that they did more in depth in subj like Maths BUT NOT a pull down topics fr A level...( i am Not sure if there are any changes now, perhaps the Juniors can input more)...<br /><br />Yes, they were introduced to Financial Literacy n AQ but those coverage were sooo superficial that they doesnt help much neither in Econs nor in GP...<br /><br />In fact, fyi... i am aware of another TOP IP sch does do pull down topics fr A level for Sciences for Yr3/4 ...even though they participate in JAE...<br />Hence, it cannot be generalised that becos of taking in JAE pupils, they wont incorporate A level topics in their Upper Sec curriculum...</blockquote></blockquote>although there are a few different IP Secondary schools, each IP curriculum conducted inside each school, is different. <br />The pace and the depth of coverage in preparing students for A level, varies from subject to subject, from Year 1 to Year 6.<br /><br />Yes, Augmum, you are correct. <br />I am aware that there are more than one IP school (that take in JAE O level students, for GCE A level) that pull down A level curriculum topics to Year 3 standard, preparing their students there well in advance, giving them an earlier head start.<br />JAE O level students who enter these IP schools in Year 5, have to catch up fast, as they missed out a fair bit, compared to their IP counterpart. <br />That is why, IP students are better prepared for A level, than JAE students, in some schools. <br /><br />As for Econs subject, heard that in one of the IP schools, Tr don't teach this subject well.
