RI: 70%

VJC: 66.6 %
AJC: 62.7%

I don't have the data for NJC.
But NJC math is known to be very good.
Just look at the challenging questions they have in their tutorials and exams.

as a h2 math tutor, i think the h2 math JC1 promotion paper of VJC is much harder than DHS.

yet this year 2015, around 1 in 3 DHS students failed their JC1 h2 math promo paper, despite being a relatively easy paper. so i can't help thinking that VJC has a better JC programme since they are so well established. however, because DHS don't have to wait for O level students to come in before they start the JC syllabus, they have covered more topics in JC1 than HCI and far more than most JCs. DHS will have plenty of time to do revision in JC2

May i know, are the Maths grades in VJC moderated in the first place ? After moderation, some can see a jump in 2 grades...( depends how heavy the moderations are)...
As for DHS JC Maths...this is the subj, thus far, i havent heard of moderation ...

O level students fr JAE join JCs on 30 th Jan ...DHS sch reopens on the 2 wk of Jan...afterwhich there is a wk of orientation n CCA selection activities...( ok, same as other JCs)
Thus, they only start having lessons in the 3 wk of Jan...Is that plenty of extra time , compared to those with JAE ?

Yes, they may cover more in Yr 5... As i heard my gal said that some easier topics, they went thru quickly...

Need to find out which H2 subjects, is the particular IP school, strong or weak in, because this may affect the child's A level results, eventually.

From my gal's batch...I was told that they did more in depth in subj like Maths BUT NOT a pull down topics fr A level...( i am Not sure if there are any changes now, perhaps the Juniors can input more)...

Yes, they were introduced to Financial Literacy n AQ but those coverage were sooo superficial that they doesnt help much neither in Econs nor in GP...

In fact, fyi... i am aware of another TOP IP sch does do pull down topics fr A level for Sciences for Yr3/4 ...even though they participate in JAE...
Hence, it cannot be generalised that becos of taking in JAE pupils, they wont incorporate A level topics in their Upper Sec curriculum...

That means, in Year 3 and 4, Tr already start asking students to buy A level pure Science textbooks (for H2 Physics, H2 Chem, H2 Bio), start to prepare them for A level, instead of having to wait until Year 5 or 6, then start to prepare for A level ?

Because Dunman don't take in any JAE O level students, [b]they can start preparing for A level much earlier, no need to wait until come Year 5.
Dunman can start preparing for A level, from Year 3 onwards.

However, VJC different.
VJC need to wait until fresh new O level students come in at Year 5, then can start A level preparation. Otherwise JAE O level students tend to miss out a lot, have to catch up a lot what they had missed out, compared to their IP counter part. (disadvantage)

My 2cts worth - once you go into JC, it no longer matters if you are from an IP JC or not All will be competing on the same frontier - A levels. So the comparison is made between VJC n DHS becos todate, both JCs are in the top category.

TJC altho IP, has been a mid tier JC todate.
