And personally, I'd advice you not to because of the following reasons:
i) the T score factor; almost impossible to predict - depends on how the overall cohort performs
ii) it's still work in progress and you do want to peak at the actual exam
ii) the sense of false hope it may give you.

I'm thankful that DD's school did not give any \"estimation\" of how her results would translate and with that, her focus was mostly on putting in her utmost effort. Our motto was \"put in the effort and the results will surely follow \"- of course study smart and effectivelylah...

I've seen the disappointment from several here where the \"expected PSLE score\" based on prelims or earlier exams did not match the actual... and I'm thankful that we did not have such predictions/estimation. Only goals.

I hope you get my point and spend more time studyig effectively to face the challenge rather than predicting.

I agree with what Peony said. Do your best and don't slack off, even if you get very good results during school exams.

My DS had been a consistent student and was at the top half of the best class in his cohort. But never did we expect him to do much worst, even worse than those classmates that he used to beat.

So, I guess your state of mind during the actual PSLE exam is also very important. As long as your are well-prepared, I think you should not do too badly (perhaps even better than what you expected). Anyway, all the best.

It is almost impossible to estimate due to many variables.

Is your school's exam easier or harder than the PSLE exam? It is also affected by how the whole PSLE cohort does and each subjects will be adjusted accordingly depending on the Bell curve.

For example, during last year's PSLE exam, one of my DS friend scored \"A\" for all his subjects. If we assume he got the minimum \"A\" score (75 marks), his average should be 225. But, his T-Score indicated only 210+

For Higher Chinese, it will not be included in calculation of your T-Score. If you apply to SAP schools, you can add 1 point (for a Pass), 2 points (for a Merit) and 3 points (for a Distinction). You cannot use the additional points gained if you apply for other schools.

Does your school give out SD? or atleast the average by level?
And the highest ?
All by subject.
If you have none of the above details, the estimation can be really off.
Atleast telling how difficult the paper was by general standards will help a bit.

being kiasu is ok .. but parents worrying and imagining their kids will not do well in PSLE based on the preliminary results is not healthy.
i may not be in a good position to comment or define who is kiasu or who is not... certainly there is a slightest element of kiasu-ism in our genes, being singaporeans.. some parents may not be ks in education but whenever there is free food/voucher/gift, they will queue up like mad... it all depends on how u view it...

worrying about psle aggreg is a behaviour of kiasu-ism in students liao....

my definition of kiasuparents is simple - so long the parents are not bo-chap then they are kiasu, whether they like, aware, admit or not .....

it is impossible to even get a close estimate for your prelim score… i believe ur sch teacher also uses the 3/4 x your total prelim score to give u an estimate…

whatever the mean and sd u get from any website, they are giving u based on past yrs data, not this yr… u wun know how well u fare as it all depends on the national standard of this yr students, though many say it is close as the results dun differ a lot but again, the difficulty level of the paper does play an impt role to determine the sd and mean.

with so many unknown factors, u cant get a close estimate at all, not to say even u have +/- 10 or more…

u wun know what is the actual mean and sd until after the results are released… till then, u already know ur actual results so there is no need for estimation anymore…
