I checked out one of the children-only aikido class in Delta Sports Complex. Occasionally, he will show off his moves at home, so he seems to like the physical aspect of the sport. However, recently he informed us that he does not enjoy his karate lessons. And the only reason he gave? He doesn’t like all the shouting.

I guess karate involves a lot of shouting of commands? My boy has always been a bit of a gentle soul, so my hubby and I weren’t too taken aback by his comments. We respect his preferences so we will be pulling him out after this term. However, he does seem to like learning some form of martial arts, and we would like to let him take on a sport, for a more healthy lifestyle. Hence, I was thinking of signing him up for aikido, which seems to be a more gentler form of martial arts.

Are there any parents who have signed your kids up for aikido? Do you recommend it?

Or should I explore other martial arts sports for my DS?

The CCs near me (Leng Kee, Henderson, Bukit Merah) do not seem to offer aikido. So far, the only aikido school which I know of around my area, is aikiForest at outram. Does anyone have any feedback on aikiForest?

And are there any other recommendations for aikido schools around Bukit Merah area?

Thanks for any feedback provided!
