Hi, my P1 daughter is in Townsville. I am quite happy with the school..they do organise few sessions with the parents during the 1st quarter, there was even a breakfast session with the principal. Let me know if you would like to have more info. I will try my best to assist :rahrah:

It's a typical neighbourhood primary school. Have been around since I was attending primary school (though my school was in a different part of AMK) 😂

MP for Sengkang GRC, Louis Chua Kheng Wee of the WP, studied in Townsville (who then went on to Anderson and HCI). The school is certainly capable of producing high quality students if that's your concern.

Do note that Townsville will be merged with Guangyang Primary School (a school with an even longer history) in 2023. The site of the merged school will be at Townsville current location.

When it comes to 2CS, schools are comparable. I suggest you go for convenience in terms of logistics. If you are free, go to the school today or tomorrow during morning 7am and 130pm dismissal to get a feel before applying tomorrow afternoon.

This is Phase 2CS.

The remaining schools are, frankly, not that significantly different (though there may be some notable exception once in a while). Hence, the general advice is typically pick the most convenient school.

FYI: Mayflower Pri current premise is closed for renovation till Dec 2021 but will have new facilities.

Hello everyone, I’m actually looking at Teck ghee and Townsville, by looking at the statistics, Teck ghee much popular, anyone know the reason?
Teck Ghee PS has a larger amount of HDBs within one 1km of it than Townsville does. Even though they are quite closeby each other, Teck Ghee has HDBs on all sides, whereas Townsville has Bishan Park on one side and industrial centre / CTE on the other. So it's not as easy to get to if walking from the nearby estates. However Townsville is very accessible by car.

Teck Ghee PS fills up at round 2C with students living within 2km of the school. Townsville fills up at round 2CS, and it has many students who are driven in from Bishan, Thomson areas etc. Usually parents in these area will try for a highly popular school like Ai Tong, Cat High, St Nick's, etc first in round 2C, and then Townsville is their backup if they don't get in for round 2CS.

Townsville is also more popular with non-Singaporeans, since Teck Ghee doesn't have space for PR and foreigners, but Townsville usually does. Townsville is also closer to the French and Australian International Schools , so some PR/foreigners who live there will opt to send kids to local school if they have a chance.

Both Teck Ghee and Townsville are great neighborhood schools. Each with a very different 'feel' to them.

I don’t know is community based SCC or school based SCC better. Being told that the school bus will send the children home after student care from school, what happen if the parents have not return home yet?
