In addition, I hope parents could share some information to my queries:-

1. Will there be a change of class when the kids progress to P2?
2. Will there be banding for all the subjects in P1 or except MT in P1?
3. Are the teachers caring and patience towards the kids or are they very fierce?
4. For P1, do they have a lot of homework? And are they required to do projects?
5. Is it mandatory to take up a CCA at P1?
Hi, I will try to answer your queries:
1. No, P1 and P2 classes remain the same, ie the FT will go on to P2 with the class.
2. Banding is done for P1 MT only, if I remember correctly, is after Term 2.
3. Well, this is a subjective question, I believe there are teachers who are caring and patient, but have to be fierce at times to control the class. My DS's P1/P2 FT is just like that.
4. The school has a HW policy, and the teachers are not allowed to exceed the HW hours allocated for each day. Hence, they do have HW daily. Projects are mainly done in school.
5. For P1, CCA is not mandatory.

Overall, JWPS is able to nurture my kids, not only in Academics but also holistically. The kids are given opportunities in Leadership roles. My DD is in P2 this year, and she is a Prefect. She takes care of the P1 and takes pride in her duties. I am happy that the school provides such early training for leadership position.

Welcome to JWPS.
Well, I believe the school will be able to provide more information about the student care during the orientation.

Other than the survey form, we have not receive any other information, so not able to advise you more.

However, the demand for the student care centre is there and I believe there will be some sort of selection or maybe balloting etc..

Hi tizzy,

JWPS will start an in-house student centre next year.
We were given a survey form couple of weeks ago.

You may want to consider registering your child there.

In-house student centres are quite good as the school will assess and survey various student care operators before deciding on one.
