Hi parents, I am new to this. I missed the school orientation on 14 Nov, can I know what have I missed or if there is anything I should be aware of most importantly or any adminstrative stuff I missed out?

Like reporting time on first day of sch, recess time or dismissal time? What to buy and prep?

I am currently considering enrolling my dd to Xingnan, it doesnโ€™t seemed to be popular though it was so closed to ntu and heard that most ntu professors used to registered their child there.
And there is almost no discussion on Xingnan Primary school online.

My DS was from XNPS. He is now in Sec 4 at his Sec School so my experience may not be the most recent.

Overall, school does have good teachers. Being a school with a Chinese heritage, ti does have a notable CL programme.

Met several supportive and caring teachers. Some teachers are really passionate about teaching. But as I said, only some, based on personal interactions

To my knowledge, there is school based student care.

XNPS does not have strong alumni association. Just putting it out there.

I told my son to ensure he buckle up his seat belt when he gets on the bus. When he came back today, he looked really upset (he was so looking forward to the ride) and told us that the bus driver told (kind of raised his voice at him) him not to buckle and โ€˜swipeโ€™ his hands off the seat belt (thats how he explain but of course I didnt know exactly what happen). He also mentioned that the driver was constantly shouting at the kids. He is now really afraid of the driver and told me that he didnt want to go to school. Can any parents who have kids taking the school bus (Bus 3 route) check with your kids to see if they have the same experience?

Hi, I have many students from Xingnan Pri. So I can probably offer some advice.


If the students are smart, the school will do their best to assist them. They will have external classes after school, finding external vendors to give them additional enrichment classes etc.

However, if the student is rather weak, the teacher will give up on him or her. I have parents complaining that their children are being called 'stupid' and 'hopeless', and no remedial for them.

I heard for their recent mock prelim paper, about 40% of the pupils failed.

Also, regarding the standard of paper, pri 4 one is much easier compared to other schs like pioneer, west grove and rulang. However, pri 6 one is about the same standard as PSLE papers. Personally, I feel more can be done to build their foundations in the earlier yrs.

Seriously...calling the kid stupid/ hopeless? That is totally unacceptable!
:?: if my child comes home with that being told to her, i would definately meet up with the teacher and principle to understand the actual situation.
