Although there is a student care within the school premises, I believe they are focused on students who can’t afford it. My son is from 1S (2017 intake) and his teacher Ms Ong respects enough that her students don’t need to be given homework during holidays. She’s stern but at the same time, motivating. I can’t compare Casuarina with other schools because my son is the first among my children to be there. The teacher uses Class Dojo app to communicate with parents.


However, I don’t quite like how ‘cheem’ they are in terms of technology because not everyone has the luxury to have a laptop at home. They have schoolwork or home learning online and it’s not IOS friendly. Security is an*l.

it was announced by MOE that Loyang primary merging into Casuarina primary, arise in Year 2019.

2019 will be the year where P6 students born in 2007, sitting for PSLE.

When this last batch of P6 students graduate from Loyang primary, not sure whether their 2019 PSLE certificate going to print out \"graduate from ... Loyang or from Casuarina primary (the merged school) \"?

If the 2019 PSLE certificate only print out \"graduate from Casuarina primary, no mention of Loyang at all\" :
won't the students kind of feel sad, since the last batch of students born in 2007 siting for 2019 PSLE, had already spent past 5 long years (started in 2014 P1, all the way until 2018 P5 at Loyang), filled with lots of wonderful, precious memories of Loyang alma Mater ?

After all, strong bonding and friendship had been built over past 5 precious years : with their (P1 to P5) class Teachers, subject Teachers, classmates, fellow school mates, Cca mates, school bus friends, etc.

Hi all i was told differently about the previous P from Casuarina. Now this Principal is in AGP (Anchor Green Pri) where my son is studying so i asked a friend whose kids were studying in Casuarina. She told me that the P was very involved with the well-being of the kids and even does things like traffic duty to ensure the kids come to school safely. That is going out of the way!

also perhaps i have a different opinion from most parents bt im sure if the teacher is fierce, this is a better thing, especially if they are in P5/6!
Cant expect all to be nurturing teachers... or not pushed to do hw or not given enough.

Yeah, I agree with the above. All my 3 girls are in Casuarina. I guess the 1st post was with regards to the school in 2011. We now have another new Principal & its been an awesome experience for my kids.

Its not only all study, they have lots of play/interaction time.

basically I have no much negative feedback from this school.
Homework is reasonable, teachers are approachable and contactable.
the school conduct networking session for parents beginning of the year
to brief on school programs, syllabus and exam timetable.

Yes, Loyang Primary has a school bus service - we pay $110 per month per child. There is also a conservative range of CCA offered to all children - even P1. As to enrichment class or tuition class, I am not sure as I have never inquired about these. The emphasis at this school is on the environment and as such, their strength is in nurturing nature. We have been very happy with this school for the past few years as they focus on the child without causing stress to the little ones.

She looks forward to coming to school and always has happy stories to share about her teachers and friends. She is a Prefect and recently led the school in pledge-taking. It was a proud moment for both of us. The school not only pays attention to the academics, she also learns other things like ukulele, drumming and chess. I have no regrets putting my child in LPS.
