Hi all Pasir Ris parents,

I am new to this thread. And seems has been years since the last update in 2018.

My girl is going to start pri school in 2023. I have managed to get into PV in White Sands Pri this year.
May I just ask for some advices:-
1) Do we still need to ballot during 2B even PV is done, based on past years experience?
2) Also, want to get some insights of WSPS, eg how does the school operate, pros & cons/performance in terms of school programmes (both academic & non-academic cca), teachers, the management & students etc?
2) If enter into 2C, I think my choice will be Elias Park. Can anyone share some opinions on WSPS vs EPPS?

Thanks @toutoulang for the insights on how White Sands work.

White Sands has never required any balloting in Phase 2B since we started monitoring in 2006. Most times, in Phase 2B, the take-up rate was about 50%. Last year, it was 9 applicants for 43 places!
It does require balloting in Phase 2C, for those 1-2km away including 2021, but mostly, it can be limited to those <1km.

Elias Park is almost the same as White Sands, with no balloting in Phase 2B but in Phase 2C, it may have balloting for those <1km (eg. in 2020 and 21) and yet for a number of years, no balloting 🙂 I think you have made a good choice.

😄 I can only help to answer this. One of my sons has graduated, Currently, the youngest is still at WSPS.
The school is systematic. Termly newsletters about assessment are sent to parents at the beginning of the term.
The teachers are experienced, though the current Principal just joined and my personal opinion is that I prefer the previous P's management which focuses more on academic. It could also because MOE is focusing more on holistic development of the students.

I will definitely choose WSPS. My 2nd son soared and despite being in WSPS (a neighbourhood school), he went on to RI. I believe the teachers are experienced and ensure that the students do well.

In the past, the balloting is also for 1km SC. In fact, schools may advise you to withdraw and try other schools.
