Hi
My gal was in P1 this year and initially I thought the sch was good. But end up I keep hearing the teacher telling me to askher to read more (my gal failed all the test given since day 1). I think they shld be like any other sch to put the weaker ones in a smaller class.
My 2 cents worth
Hi. It's a blessing that teacher had identified your daughter weakness and advised on how to improve. Its too early to stream them out as \"weak student\" in p1. My daughter was weak in all subjects too while she was in p1. She was then identified and they provide extra class \"enable programme\" to better improve her maths and English. Now I can see improvement. Some slower learners just need some extra time. We can't say the school is not good just because our child is not doing well. Family
support is important too. -

Hi all,
For the two best classes from P3 onwards, are the students placed randomly in the top two classes? Or the 1st forty will be placed in the first class? -

In previous years, 1st forty will be placed in 1st class, next forty in the 2nd class. But not sure if they will make any changes next year.
cheers! -
I am not sure what is the criteria now. My child is ranked 2nd in class. The 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th go to one class while my child goes to another class. The process is not transparent.

So, is your child going to 1st or 2nd class? -

2nd class. He is ranked between 10 - 15 of the entire cohort.gohsoonk:

2nd class. He is ranked between 10 - 15 of the entire cohort.[/quote]Some schools practice alternate positions in the 1st n 2nd classes. Meaning, 1st position in the whole cohort goes 1st class, 2nd goes 2nd class, 3rd goes 1st class n so on... So if they work out that way now, and if your child's position in whole cohort is even number, then your child should be posted to 2nd class... Just my guess.. Maybe you can call the school to check.chl72:

The school could have grouped all those who cleared gep round 1 into 1st class. My niece ranked above 30th but has been placed in 1st class for next year.

My child was balloted out of MTS earlier. This afternoon, the school called and said there is a vacancy for my child. Wondering if I should take up this offer. In a dilemma as my child had gone for orientation at the other Pri school and we had bought uniforms and books. Positive vibes felt at the other school.
Would like to hear from existing MTS parents how you find MTS so far for your child.
Am I silly to give up the chance to join MTS?
