Maybe because they are still in lower primary that's why. But it kinda makes me think that since they can complete the syllabus so quickly, maybe they should flesh it out a bit more. For DD's school I think they are pretty balanced but since left with so much time, maybe can introduce small scale projects for the kids. For DS, well, I think the teacher was able to complete the syllabus because she ate into a fair bit of their music and art classes, even PE as well.  :razz: <br /><br /><br />As for holidays, I prefer long stretches. I'd rather combine the 2 term breaks into the semester breaks. Find that 1 week break after the term a bit disruptive. We can't take leave for the whole school holidays which means the children are either at home bored (if you have someone to look after them) or we are spending money to send them to camps etc. to keep them busy. I agree that they need a break but I would prefer it to be a bit shorter. We have already had so many days of school being closed this term and the holidays haven't even started.<br /><br />I went to school in the UK where we had 6 weeks in the summer but as it was summer we would go and stay with my grandparents by the sea or if we were at home we would be playing outside all day every day.
