I am a clueless mom waiting to register my child born in 2011 to Greenwood Pri. I am looking at doing parent volunteering. I’m not sure what to look for in choosing a primary school. Can someone enlighten me please?

Also, may I know when will be the streaming year? Pri 4? Is Greenwood consider a more holistic or academic school?

She shared that the teacher called the mother personally to suggest considering her son for DSA to top sec school as the child has potential. To the teacher’s dismay, my friend rejected the teacher’s offer.


She will consider only neighbourhood schools as she thinks the distance and travelling time factor will play a huge part.

If the child can study, no matter what kinds of teachers the child gets, the child will score. If the child can’t study type, even if get the best teachers from the top schools, the child will just be average.

His P1 and 2 teachers is really very dedicated and really motivate my son very well. Overall, i feel no matter what school the kid go, with a happy kid will have happy parents. Good environment –> good result.


Will like to know is there any good tuition center for English and Math around the area. Currently, my son is going to JE in Khatib for Math tuition, if there is good one around the area will be better.

Academic wise is good too . The current principle was from rulang primary. She is very dedicated to her work. My daughter did well in psle last year under her and is now in one of the ip school this year .

Hi,

In the end, i send my son to Greenwood as its just 3mins walk to school. 😉
So far so good. Just went for another parent briefing yesterday , to update the parents what are the lesson that will be conducted in class and let us understand more abt the syllabus.
The principal seems very nice and most importantally very motivated. A motivated principal will motivate the teachers and in turn motivate the student.

As my son is just 2 weeks in Pri 1, i can't comment much on the results yet.

Both my Daughter and Son studied in GWPS, and got 250 above PSLE scores. I think it is a good primary school in Admiralty area.

Hi mind telling me if both of yr kids are in class 6A and if they attend any tuition centre nearby admiralty. Is Yew tution centre a good place to get my
kid to have tution there ?

My ds is in 6B and the recent CA1 papers were very tough and most of them did badly
