We literally spent the whole of p6 preparing for PSLE. The form Teacher motivated the students to push for special stream and aim for the top schools.


About 20 students /more than half the class got into Hwa Chong , Nanyang girls , River Valley , RGS, RI. Many others got into Bukit Panjang sec.

Many got above 260… a few got above 270

Average at 250

So with the new principal now , I think Qihua will do well with these new programs and self belief that she is inculcating .

If you're < 1km, may I suggest you seize this good deal. Few Woodlanders know the 80-year-old Qihua (Kay Wah) is now headed by ex-Nanyang Primary principal (since 2017). 😉

If you take some time to trawl and scour thru their FB, you may be pleasantly surprised she's introduced heck of a lot of programmes since she took over, many of which are not dissimilar to what some 'branded' schools are offering.

Can tell she is super proactive and committed to lifting Qihua's morale & standing by giving them a lot of exciting & DSA-able opportunities. For instance, Qihua's ALP/niche is Innovation & Entrepreneurship (DSA into SJI, Cedar, NYGH).

Interestingly, they also offer MO enrichment from P3 as well as some STEM stuffs. There are quite many cultural immersion trips to China & Brunei (looks like a lot for a neighbourhood school), cultural exchange programmes with China.

The principal is heard to be retiring end of the year and new principal will come in to lead. The new principal is none other that Nanyang Primary School principal, Lee Hui Feng. She is going to lead Qi Hua Primary School in 2017 onwards.

they ask me to send in app with results slips and say they only review when there vacancy… long waiting list…

Hello All,

So far my daughter's experience is not bad.. She is in P2 now..
When she first joined P1 beg of 2010, she joined a chinese program called ' 千句文\" where they learn chinese computer class.. Being a 'jiak kangtang' girl like her, managed to get into Higher chinese because of this and I find that her chinese Language has improved a lot.. They also select those good in EL ( i think 2 in a class) to take up extra lesson in EL under Little Red Dot, APEX now. She likes her school very much.. hope she can be happy in school.. enjoy herself while learning... cheers..
hi there! im a p6 student in qihua this year 🙂 the chinese program is good! helped alot ppl to improve their chinese. from p4 to p6 all students will get newspaper each week.(once a week) and there is also little red dot inside. little red dot is great, can learn a lot of things! our teachers also use little red dot in class for teaching xD the newspaper is cheap! i think its about $6(forgotten) per year.
