Hopefully, we can get a slot for her in this school. We are near to this school, and we have been to this school twice for my daughter’s sports fest when she was in pre-school. School facilities are really nice and clean.

Can someone provide advice on the school’s environment? In a general sense as to how your kids feel being in the school; are they happy? As well as how comfortable you guys are with your kids in there. hoping to get some feedback before 16Aug when Phase 2CS ends! 😃

I have a son diagnosed with mild autism and have been recommended to go to mainstream schools instead of special needs. Was really hoping for Northland coz I did plenty of asking for that and it seemed to be the best fit… But unsuccessful balloting =(

Clarification made, to your above statement, underlined.

parents who are of Foreigner status :
are Not allowed to be Parent Volunteer(s), in primary schools.

Reason ?
Parent Volunteers are tied to Phase 2B, and 2B is only meant for (Sg citizens & Sg PR) only.

It is stated very clearly on MOE website, under the different Phases of P1 Registration : the rules of Primary 1 Registration.
You can confirm, for yourself

AND

when you fill up the Application Form, to apply to be a Parent Volunteer (PV) -
it is also stated clearly inside the Application Form, before you sign, that to be a PV :
One Has to be either a Sg citizen, or Sg PR status, before one get selected to be a PV, before start clocking up the minimum X number of hours required, for PV.

So, when schools receive Application Form(s) from foreigners, to be PV, schools will ignore (won't process)

Parent volunteers (which you mention, above) : come under Phase 2B

However, take note that Phase 2B is applicable only to Sg citizen children AND to PR children, only.

Phase 2B is NOT applicable to any Foreigner children status.

Foreigners can only apply to local schools, under Phase 3.
Not under any other Phase : like Phase 2B, when you mention Parent Volunteers.

for Phase 3
There isn't any Parent Volunteer program.
MOE handle all Foreigners' applications, into local schools.

I am the parent of three school going childen studing in Ahmad Ibrahim Primary. One is in P6 and my twins in in P2.

The school is a centre of excellence for Chinese Language. In fact for the last two years, AIPS has acheived a 98% A star of A for their P6 PSLE results in the whole school.

The school use TCM and the Zoo to introduce the children to study the chinese language.

The school practice holistic education and character development is their forte. Last year,
the school was awarded the Outstanding Character Development Award by MOE.

The school population has a majority of chinese pupils, follow by malays and Indians. They have also International students studying in the school. The school also has Hindi classess.

The Parent Support Group in the school is very active with many members. They conduct and organised outing, learning journeys, workshops for parents and students in arts and crafts.

The Principal and VP
are strong leaders and are very proactive in school. I feel very comfortable putting my three children in AIPS. The also have a after care centre for students with working parents in the school which is very well run by the Life Ministry.

i attended an MOE seminar there last weekend and the place and ppl there seemed nice. the principal appeared to be quite outspoken and energetic as well. overall, the impression was good but you really can’t tell from the outside.
