I am new here, but just want to share my experience. I was recommended by a friend for their mental arithmetic courses and was quite impressed with their decades of experience. Now that my child is with E&P, I would recommend E&P too.

Frankly it was a little difficult at the start (he joined when he was about 4 yo), and I felt my ds was learning too slowly. But the principal, Ms Lian, was very patient with him. She was also very patient with my wife and me (I pushed Ms Lian to go faster but she advised us otherwise as she thought it was in the best interest of my ds, and was very assuring). Homework was quite an issue too as sometimes my ds could not perform at home and it can be quite anxiety inducing, but it's much better now and he's very quick with his mental calculation. We've been with them for about 3 years now and it's been a fruitful journey with them.

He's progressing very well in his advanced mental arithmetic now, so I will be sending him to other E&P courses as well. (Smart Maths, for his primary school math programmes) I'll be roping in some friends too if they are interested.

PS: If anyone has a language school to recommend, please contact me. My ds is P1 this year. Thanks!

If kids can’t catch up, they will ask you to pull your kids out. They feel that they are the “gifted” school and keep pushing and pushing. Kids only feel stressed.

I went there…really like the teachers but problem was the centre is now very poorly maintained and had a strange smell when I stepped in.

So I very hesitant …hope to hear more feedback

I don’t know whether they are using the same method or not. One thing for E & P is they only have 2 centres ( one in Orchard and another one in Yishun ) wherelse the CMA they have many centres all over Singapore. As for the IQ test, my girl just took the SOI test organise by the E & P… but I am not too sure they are recognised by MOE. My girl’s teacher did not mention to me about this… Maybe I need to ask her about it.

At first, thinking of sending my daughter who will be turning 4 next month of CMA in 2009. Now heard about E&P, a bit confused… which to enrol?

I not too sure what it is but Ms Lian told us that she had submitted the paper to MOE for your vetting and obtaining approval from MOE. According to her some parent use it to get their child into the Gifted Programme.

I started him with the abacus class (4 books) and then follow by the mental calculation class (8 books). He completed the whole syballus. What \"nmhmum\" said is truth they do difficult questions easily without the help of the calculator. He also taken a competition organisa by E & P and a IQ paper which is recognize by MOE.

Yes, and I have witnessed with my own eyes the prowess of either a graduate or on-going student of E&P. Though she was only P1, I had to kow-tow to her ability to divide, which surpasses mine by several folds.

Can the same be achieved with kumon ??

My girl is currently there and she is 3.5yrs old with the course called
Total Brain Development. The best thing is... lessons are conducted in Chinese 😄

More exposure to chinese environment

What's being conducted in class? Is there a need to be able to write before joining?


I have no idea what do they do, but it seems that my girl is having great fun, as for writing I think you send you child to assess and they will be able to tell you if your child is ready.

My son join them when he is 6 (he is 11 now) and we find that he benefit a lot from it.

Anada Lian (Founder & Teacher) is good but she told me they she don't follow school syallbus. She said that most important is they understand the concept. My son completed his lesson with Ms Lian when he is in Pr 1 and till date we didn't send him to any math enrichment class.
