1. Since both MSG and SCGS IP is new, any idea which school is better?

2. Is below selection make sense ?

1. NYGS
2. SCGS
3. NJC
4. MGS
5. RV

One of the big disadvantages of SCGS IP or their partner schools Catholic High and CHIJ St Nicholas is that the students will go onto a new JC. You can expect teething problems with a new JC where the quality of teachers will be a big unknown. The potential of the pupils may not be fully realised with a new JC.

Yup, agree. No track record..pioneering batch faces all the hiccups before they oil the engine for future batches. :roll:

What are her first two choices?

If you're thinking of MGS IP, chances are practically zero.
If you're thinking of MGS O level, maybe.

If not, she will definitely get into her second choice, which in this instance is SCGS. So your decision for your 2nd choice is important.


Difference between SCGS IP and MGS IP:

1. SCGS leads to A levels.
MGS leads to IB Diploma.
Which does she prefer?

2. SCGS IP leads to a new JC.
MGS leads to ACS(I) which has a solid history of good performance at IB exams.
Something to think about.

3. MGS is a Christian school.
SCGS is secular.
Is that important to you?

Not all IP the same.

SCGS IP = A levels
MGS IP = International Baccalaureate

Look up the pros and cons of the two different certifications and programs before comparing schools.
