The person quoted an example of a student who couldn’t get into medicine even tho he got straight As for his academic results, bcos he wasn’t actively involved in cca (which implied that he didn’t get good grades for his cca). <br /><br /><br />If the above is true, then it means that you still need to do well in a cca no matter which path you take, O level or IP?[/quote]<br /><br /><br />That may be true in the past, but in recent years, NUS med has been accepting students who are just members in their cca, no leadership, no CIP, medals etc. On top of that, you don’t need straight As, there are several cases of students with Bs (GP or H2 subjects) and even Cs in GP getting accepted into the faculty. <br /><br />A number of my daughter’s classmates with straight As and excellent cca records have been rejected by Nus med.<br /><br />Why?</p>

I think she received the senior staff sergeant rank or something by the time she was in Sec 4 and managed to deduct 2 points from her L1R5. <br />Her CCA was only once a week but her CCA gave her a lot of CIP opportunities. The CIP helped her earn a no. of badges which i think helped her with the CCA points. <br />The badges you earn depends on the activities the seniors arrange, i think.
