<![CDATA[Blacklist Irresponsible Maids]]>I have just recently sent back my Indonesia Maid, Ms. Siti Nurjanah whom have been working with us for more than a year.


I have written to MOM to request for her to be blacklisted so that other employers will not have to go thru what we have gone thru.

Siti has been working in Singapore for 7 yrs and was able to cook and do housework without much teaching.

Due to her capability, we trusted her and treated her as part of our family member. She requested for 2 Offdays instead of 1 Offday (based on her contract). We gave it to her as she claim that she wants to learn needlework.

We were shocked after 2 months of working with us. Below are some of the things that she did from time to time:
1) We lost cash from time to time
2) One morning, Siti was missing from her bed at 5.30am when we wake up…and my husband has to go and look for her…
3) A few mornings, my son came back from NS Camp and found that she was not at home… (The reason for having a maid was to take care of my elderly father-in-law whom is a partial stroke patient).
4) We discover later that she did not go for any Needlework Class… instead she went dating… and sleeping around with Bangladesh Boyfriends (we found contraceptive pills, pregnancy test kits & match stick in the toilet!!)
5) She has been spending lots of time on her mobile phone and neglected her duties…
6) Our home groceries items seems to be moving faster that normal…
7) My new lingeries, costume jewelleries all seems to be missing for weeks before it appears again

We began to monitor her more closely and was even more shocked when our neighbour told us that her Bangladesh Boyfriend came to our house and there was 1 occassion they even quarrel and my neighbour have to chase the guy away…

No wonder our water bill seems to go up so much as we discover that they use our bathtub…

When we look into her sms in her mobile phone, we were shocked… She will provide extra service and the guys will have to bring her money or Mobile phone top up card… No wonder she is so busy on her mobile…

My concern was if next year we have to give maids 4 Off days, what will become of our maids?.

I have been employing maids for more that 10 yrs already and these recent years, we have 3 maids all did similar things as Siti (stole cash, sleeping around with Bangladesh Boyfriends, bringing them to our place…).

I did not think of Blacklisting them as I thought it may not happen again but it did and worst still, I can see my previous maids having facebook and they are in Singapore again!!.

How many more employers will have to go thru what I went thru… That is the reason why I decided that we should try to blacklist them and prevent them from coming again.

MOM have replied to be already that they will Blacklist Siti for any future employment but they will not be able to stop her coming to Singapore under social visit…

She’s in her late 30’s. Probably not a good time since CNY near the corner and we really need the help. She has been with us for slightly over a year. Still ok first few months but attitude and work performance changed, wore makeup (stole from me) to walk the dog, stole cosmetics and accessories from my daughter and I. She also bought a HP secretly. I’m ok with her using hp but she should at least let me know she wanted one. The final straw was when she started ignoring my mum, take long time to run errands and hurt my mum while massaging her arms. Found out her main purpose here is to get a boyfriend (she’s divorced with custody of her daughter). At the agent’s office, refused to apologise. Beware of her as she will probably come back to Singapore. Going to take break from all this and rely on part time helper.

This is my email to MOM to 'BL' her but it will not prevent her from coming back to SG should any potential employers not check or EA pull a fast one:

In summary of my previous helper's conduct, character, work attitude or performance:

Conduct:
1. Have been asking for advance salary from the 2nd month she started working for me.
2. Requested for off days and salary increment after only working for me for 2 weeks. Before I spoke to her, she started showing bad attitude towards her work even being rude to the children (2 & 7 yrs old). Even though the contract between us is a flat salary with no off days as she was employed without agency and henceforth, she do not have to pay for any loan and she received her full salary from 1st mth.
3. Been borrowing money from other FDW and so far there's 2 FDW appearing at my door step and asking for monies to be returned.
4. Have not been doing her job well. House is dirty and not in a clean condition. Her main job is house-keeping as my 2 girls leave home with me Mon-Fri at 645am to school. Both attends school/ childcare from 7-7pm on weekdays. Her only job during weekdays is to clean up the house and to cook dinner for the children. But, she failed in her main job duty of house-keeping.
5. Found out she has a boyfriend and she has been secretly leaving the house on a daily basis although I do not know what/why is the reason for leaving the house. She is not allowed to leave the house without informing me. But, from my cctv, i saw that she's been leaving the house daily in the noon.

Character:
1. Ingrate
2. Dishonest
3. Ill-mannered
4. Grumpy & Grouchy
5. Disrespectful
6. Cannot accept criticism or comments from employers.
7. Cannot accept employer's way of asking her to do things such as cook or cleaning the house.

Work Attitude:
1. Horrible work ethics
- Places that can't be seen on a daily basis had not been cleaned for the past 12 mths that she was hired. I have videos of the horrific condition of my kitchen cabinets.
- Food stuffs were left rotten and chucked away in the corner of kitchen cabinets and when i found it, maggots were found crawling around.
- Attitude towards children is HORRIBLE. My 2 children who are in school/ afterschool care & childcare from Mon-Fri 7am-7pm says that this FDW terrifies them as she's always angry and always scolding them whenever I'm (adults) are not around. Thank god, my children are seldom left alone with Lucy Ca** Ando***.

Performance
Her main task in my house is to do house-keeping. Cleaniness of the house is top priority. But, she failed horribly.

If I were to rate her accordingly upon 10. This is my rating:
House-keeping: 2/10. Areas that can be seen is cleaned accordingly. But, areas that can't be seen has never been cleaned for the past 12 months at all.
Child-Minding: 1/10. Not patient with children. Always showing a ill-tempered face. Ignoring the children when they greeted her, or say good night to her. Do not leave your children with Lucy Caya Andoloy at all costs.
Cooking: 1/10. Cannot cook well. Only willing to cook food that she likes to eat and it's always deep-fried food. Non-nutritious and bad for children. Not knowledgeable about food safety and hygiene as well for she'll leave frozen food out to thaw at room temp. Despite me as an employer telling her multiple times NOT to do that, she still does things her way. Even caught her cooking broken eggs that has been kept for several days. It's pure luck that my children have not fallen ill in any way.

With the above, I do not recommend that she should work for any fellow Singaporeans. She's a risk to any future employer.

Been with me for 3 years. Took her as my previous helper had to go back when mum passed away. Aung used to work for my friend whose MIL disliked her - though she basically disliked all her helpers. Benefit of the doubt, took her as she can speak Mandarin and English, having worked previously in Singapore too. Even agent likes her and says she is very hardworking, will go back to agent office on her off days and help clean the place!


Started to slack after a while. Told her no handphone during the day and dont ever bring it to my dad’s place where there is another helper. Caught a few times flouting this. Never mind, just told her off. I am a very easy employer. Even with a full time helper, my house is dirty and messy! To make life easy for everyone, husband always tell me to just tahan and let her finish her contract.

Fast forward to CNY this year. She was caught taking angbao from my brother’s room drawer! Totally no reason to go into the room! CCTV caught her. Confronted her and sent her home.

Just want to warn the folks here. She is a very good candidate, speaks both Mandarin and English, always looks very enthu. Appearance wise, she is skinny, tall and tomboy. Sports a tattoo (!!) on one of her forearms, not sure if it is for religious reasons. Yes, my bad, I have been too easy and lenient.

Luckily I can be rid of maids as my boys are also quite grown up, youngest turning 12. I have put myself for reference calls in case anyone decides to hire her.

MOM will instead placed the fdw on referral case. Meaning potential employer to contact previous employer who left the negative feedback to MOM & find out what happened. In the end, whether the potential employer proceed with the hiring is not MOM’s control. But whether the contact that the agent gave u to check on the referral is the real employer, who knows? 🤷🏻‍♂️

She is a great liar, actress and attitude helper. Cooked up a lot of stories telling me how poor she is… she is now in Philippine but coming back to Singapore and work again. Please avoid employing this helper.

Mine just returned to Myanmar. She’s capable but the next employer will have to be prepared for manipulation, lies (a lot), damages (a lot a lot) to household stuff and revenge (when she gets corrected or when she doesn’t get her way). The most ridiculous was she pried open my Iphone and denied (unfortunately, she was caught on cctv).


While she was efficient throughout her term with us, there was quite a fair bit of mind games. It was hellish during the period when she insisted on going back.

I don't think the maid can stay there to give birth. If not china ppl won't need to pay extra money to third party to ask ppl to help them give birth at china. They will all queue up to be maid then indo or phili can continue stay in their country.

Her name is Tina from Indonesia, she got 3 hand phone and her role is to look after my aunt mil but this maid early in the morning will ask her banga bf come my aunt hse then they have sex either at living room or the staircase at the block. When my aunt first caught the maid given her chance to think coz she already trained to cook plus she understand hainanese words. So she given her 2 chances but none did she cherish. My aunt did blacklist her coz she scare later she can’t get new maid. But later… Her new maid now also follow Tina foot step… Really headache!

Here it's not a question of whether the employer can terminate or not, or wants to terminate or not. It's not a matter of employer vs the maid.
Here the employer must cancel her Work Permit and send her home.

W.e.f. 1/1/13, all new maids and all maids renewing contracts will be entitled to one day off per week. That would come to 4 days per month, some months would be 5 days.
