DH and I like a \"quiet\" home cooked Gourmet dinner every now and then. Here's how we do it :


Cook something for the kids. After they have their dinner, turn on the tv with a 2 hour long cartoon and let them glue to the tube. DH and I will then open our bottle of chilled red, put our steak on the grilling pan, prepare our salad dressing and sit down to our quiet (with the background tv noise) home-cooked gourmet dinner.

We do this about 1 weekend every month. We pick up a good rib eye cut from Swiss Butchery (Greenwood Ave) in the morning and sprinkle only salt and pepper before we put it into the grilling pan. This is our couple time while the kids chill out in front of the tv.

Too bad I do not have pics now. Will be sure to remember to take some next round!

i learn from recipe wan....very often was a disaster LOL then i tweak it until it works.

I also learn from cook-shows....my fav is Nigella Lawson....she can cook and she's super HOT :love:

anyway, for the pizza dough,

6 parts flour
1 part oil
1 part water
1 tablespoon yeast

mix and knead until consistent. Rest it for 45 mins. Then whack out all the air, rest for another 20 mins.

chop up baby tomatoes until very fine. Dust baking pan, flatten dough on it until covers pan. Spread tomatoes on it. Bake at 200 degrees for 20 mins.

** U need to pre-cook any meat before putting on pizza**

put meat and Mozarella cheese on pizza, bake for another 10 mins.

Serve πŸ™‚

Will try your method. With my pizza, (1) no oil, (2) bake in one go for 10mn. I find the tomato sauce one of the most determinant factors in the success.

Another good and cheap oven u can consider is the round turbo broiler (xue di zi).. I use that.. very easy to clean and about $80 only.. only thing is the heat is only from the top, so u need to flip the food over.. but it doesn't consume too electricity, and I've used it to bake and roast.. πŸ™‚

Mrsbongz, any brand to recommend? I've heard of good reviews for this, especially for chicken wings πŸ˜‰
